I've tested this out on a Virtual Box running Windows XP (note: I'm trying to find a version of Win 7 to reproduce your bug).
These are my current findings:
With a fresh install of Google Chrome (version 14.0.835.187) I could sign in to GiantBomb via Whiskey Auth (https://auth.whiskeymedia.com/login/?from_site=giant-bomb&next=/).
With the "Google Chrome to Phone" extension installed, I could sign in to GiantBomb via Whiskey Auth.
With both the "Google Chrome to Phone" and the "Google Share Button" extension installed, I could sign in to GiantBomb via Whiskey Auth.
With all of the extensions that you listed installed, I could still sign in to GiantBomb via Whiskey Auth.
That said, the last extension I installed called, "Last Pass" is a password manager that *might* be making calls between login form posts to a third party site (the Last Pass site). It is possible that the CSRF verification failed error you are experiencing is coming from this. I'm not saying this definitely is the culprit, but it would seem like a pretty obvious candidate as CRSF stands for Cross-Site Request Forgery and our framework depends on a valid CRSF token being set in order to properly process the login form.
Could you try uninstalling that specific extension and trying again? It would at least narrow the list of possible explanations.
With Windows 8 less than a year out, new video cards coming out right now and hard drive prices being so high, I don't think right now is the best time to jump into a new PC.
Great note regarding hard drive prices.... is there a projected time frame for when they'll be coming down in price? That said, do we think the next generation of consoles will feature SSDs?
Skyrim just killed my poor 360. With new consoles just around the corner (2013ish?) - would you recommend buying a new XBOX or building a new PC and hooking it up to my TV?
Pros:
Steam - And really, what seems to be a larger catalogue of games at a lower price point.
Better graphics/performance - Basically, next gen graphics (and 1080p) from this current generation of games.
Cons:
Exclusivity - Xbox exclusive titles. XBLA content.
Online - The ability to play with friends on Live (is it possible on a PC to still play games w/ friends on a 360?)
Price - The price of a new powerful PC would run me around $1,000 ??? (I have no idea).
Points - I don't care about points.
My old games - If I made the switch, then my current game catalogue becomes pretty worthless. That said, the only game I was still playing a ton of was Skyrim. I don't tend to revisit old games all that often.
SSX - Oh noes, is SSX coming out for PC?!!!! This could seriously be a mitigating factor.
Any thoughts, suggestions, anecdotes you have would be greatly appreciated :)
