@steamrickroller: Because for those you need the figures on top of that chip constantly, meaning you can't use it as a controller. Also you can only fit one figure at a time.

LOL, good design nintendo

That's nothing to do with nintendo's design, he was answering why skylanders figures can't be put on the wii u controller instead of the skylanders platform thing if the controller supports NFC. I imagine these nintendo produced things won't work like that.

I'd imagine Activison also wanted the portal to keep manufacturing costs of the figures down. Everyone else plays with RFID, and the entire point of Skylanders is that they work on multiple platforms.

Ugh Skylanders, Disney, now Nintendo. All things I have no interest in getting NFC chipped toys of. Now if they made an NFC warhammer game or something or D&D, that would be cool.

Look into Golem Arcana (by Harebrained Schemes) or Prodigy (by Hanakai Studio). They're sort of playing around with the idea. I think there are more, but those are the two that comes to mind.

@legend: The "yuuu" is a hidden reference to the main character "Yuu", right? Good one Bob :p

So that kickstarter is absolutely fucking insane and it's impossible to even tell what will be made... So yeah, it's pretty fascinating. Go be your own man, Bob!

 • Holy shit, we have more boards than we knew about. And not even the Moderator-Only board; shit like Artist Show-Off, Battles, Contests, and other shit I don't think I've ever seen. Anybody wanna test this to see if these boards work?

Haha, I think those are ComicVine boards, or at least, I know they exist over there.

I'm just gonna paste it from the development status thread:

In chrome on Android, I can't click the navigation menu in a wikipage and see images, forums, etc.The icon gets highlighted, but no menu appears that I can see.

EDIT: Reproducible in chrome on WIndows 8 (so, you know, Chrome), as well as Firefox. I'm assuming other browsers as well. It seems clicking the element labeled

just doesn't do anything currently.

Same here, it's the same with any page with that same sub-nav. It's been a while so an update would be nice. The Javascript might not be wired properly or something.
