Seriously though, games will inevitably be widely accepted as an art form, it just takes time and some people would even argue that GTA4 did do some thing to advance games as a medium, in the emotional decision making especially towards the end of the game, anyone who's finished it will know what I'm talking about it. It may not be much but at least it's something. Games are still in a position where they are stealing most of their techniques from their closest art form, film. Also I don't think it really matters that most of the attention on games is directed towards the Halos and GTAs, I mean just because mindless blockbusters are the most discussed films dosent take away the significance of film as an artform. And just look at The Last Guardian to see how far games have come in the last few years. You just can't force that kind of thing. And thats all I have to say about that.

Edit: Woah for some reason when I upload this the colours go all trippy. It looks like the red has been taken out or something, maybe if you put a red screen on top in photoshop it might fix it?

Edit 2: Also I'm an idiot, obviously when I upload to giant bomb the image is shrunk, so it's not  1280x1024 it's more like 600x something. I don't know how I would do 1280x1024 on here. Maybe the file in my profile is bigger? I'm not sure.
