Uncharted 2 gave me a thrill-a-minute experience that is completely unparalleled in the world of video games. It stands alone as one of the greatest experiences of all time in interactive entertainment. Never before have I actually had my jaw hang agape as I watched the action unfurl before my eyes. A lot of this has to do with the fact that you stay in control of the character through the craziest moments that all other games would resort to showing you in the form of a cut-scene. There are unique moments around every corner in this game and it never lets up! I wish all games could be like this. A truly magnanimous achievement for the video game industry.

Morrowind got me away from JRPGs and into the more Americanized versions of their related genre. (I still enjoy the JRPG very much though) Morrowind presented a huge world, an epic quest, and so much freedom in an RPG that, at first, I was overwhelmed by the possibility of being able to do whatever I so chose. I was hooked and played through, wanting more. Luckily it came in the form of 2 very fun and interesting expansions.

Oblivion adds a lot to Morrowind's package but overall, at the core of things, it is more of the same. But this is a great thing as Morrowind had a very engaging story, so too does Oblivion. One of my favorite time wasters of all time, Oblivion gives you a lot of bang for your buck; I bought it at release and still play it today.

One of the most amazing RPGs you could ever experience.

Faxanadu was a game that, when I was very VERY young I could not grasp or understand fully but still enjoyed. I couldn't read very well and even though the game has broken English, most of the text was rendered incomprehensible to me, I still enjoyed it very much. As years passed and I replaced my SNES my vocabulary grew (imagine that!) and I felt like checking out my old NES and the games with it. I played through this and it was one of the best experiences I ever had with a game. This game is definitely worth checking out for anyone out there who can still appreciate the old games that have built the foundation for today's blockbusters.

I am over half-way through with this title at the time of writing. I only recently purchased a PS3 as of now (mostly to have a Blu-Ray player for the movie-loving girlfriend). Found the game new for $30, couldn't believe it since it is only 9 months old since this entry. This game is amazing by long and by far (so far) and I am very excited to see the conclusion of Metal Gear Solid.

Excellent game and story. Added many new features to the series that really improved upon an already interesting formula.

Ok, I hated Raiden as much as anyone, but I still enjoyed the game as much as I could.

If you'll notice, almost every title on this list can stand without their respective story. This is about the only game (series) that I actually enjoy the storyline which is weird because normally I can't stand the Japanese style.

Castle Crashers is one of the best beat-'em-ups to be released.

Braid is an amazing platformer...some call it revolutionary, I think its just a blast

My favorite of the Metroids. This game honestly creeped me out when I was young but I played through it because the gameplay and graphics were so awesome. This is a timeless game. EDGE magazine has a great recounting of the game in their September '08 issue that very adequately paints a picture of why, in just the first five minute of the game, this game is so awesome. Classic in its truest form.

I loved this game so much when it first came out... ahhh the memories.

The ultimate Zelda title in my heart. The scene where you get the Master Sword in this game still sends a shiver down my spine to this day (have the SNES version and replayed it multiple times on GBA). The way they did this scene was just perfect, it is all in the music. The story, game, music, look and feel of this game are all spot on. If any game deserves a perfect score, this is it.

Ohh my God. Guerrilla War? Yes, Guerrilla War. This game is host to many young video game memories for me. I must have beaten this game at least 10 times as a kid. Maybe even more, honestly... Me and my friends would play this game for hours on end growing up, especially during the winters when the snow would be too high to play in. I think out of everything I remember the final boss in his bright yellow uniform... that and the "Continue" screen music. Would hear that just about every 5 minutes lol.

StarFox was so awesome for its time. Why? Well, we had 3D on a SNES. Enough said. I realize it looks like bird droppings today, but back then this game was the most amazing thing you could play... and beyond its (then) awesome and groundbreaking graphics, the game was actually good. It went on to be a classic because it was more than just a technical showcase, it was actually a fun and challenging game. Highly recommended for those who love games and their history.

Starfox 64 has a special place in my heart. Beyond being a fun game with the return of awesome characters like Slippy Toad and Falco, and more interstellar battles, this game was fun and memorable for me because me and my best friend would play it all the time and compete for high score. Co-op competitive campaign was the way to play. The amount of time we played this game over the course of the N64s life probably reaches well over a week of cumulative time. This is a game that will always be in my memory banks.

Awesome game and even though player 2 sorta got the shaft, it was still a fun co-op game as well. To be honest, I loved playing as Floyd the drone. I have always been a backseat driver so it was a natural role for me. I would sit there, shoot everything in sight, and yell at my friends and tell them what they should be doing (or at least what I thought they should be doing) the game had awesome graphics for the time, was hard as hell to beat, and never got boring or stale. A true gem in the grand scheme of gaming.

Donkey Kong Country was AMAZING! This game was a game that my sister and I would play for hours on end. My sister never played many games, and those that she has played, she beats even less... but this is one game that she beat and loved! She even went out of her way to collect all of the secrets in the game. Truly a unique game, it is one of the few that you can go back today and still enjoy as much now as the time of its release. The game was the perfect mix of interesting art style, audio, characters and most essential - beautiful gameplay. This reborn Donkey Kong and set up much success for him - so much success came from this one game that it didn't just spin off countless sequels on multiple (Nintendo) consoles that spanned over three different consoles, but also a kids animated TV show. Oh and if that weren't enough, this was the title that started the golden age of Rare games. Rare couldn't seem to go wrong for the longest time.

Joe & Mac: Caveman Ninja was my favorite game to rent from Blockbuster when I was a kid. I rented this game so much that I probably paid for it and then some. I only ever beat it once, and it was one of the most satisfying moments in my young gaming life.

Little Nemo is a very charming game that takes a goofy idea and makes it into something memorable and adult. While the game is geared towards kids it had a very dark tone in later levels. To be honest, as a kid, some of the later stages scared me. Give me a break though, I was about 3 or 4 when I started to play this game. I loved tossing candy at animals to put them to sleep and transform into them. The game had some really awesome mechanics to it for a game of this era and since platformers were a dime-a-dozen on the NES, this really helped make Little Nemo stand out. The most memorable thing about this game has to be the music. I can remember every song to this game note-for-note. It really is an awesome game and I am glad I had it part of my childhood.

Demon's Souls, released in 2009, presents a form of brutal gameplay that I thought was all but dead in this "hold-you-by-the-hand" era of gaming. It is one of my favorite games of 2009 and I can't get enough of it. Oh, pro-tip. If it is your first time playing, you might want to avoid playing Magician (although he gets extremely powerful later on! So maybe you should if you are hardcore enough hahaha :p)

A very fun Dungeon Crawler ala Diablo series, this gem is made by the same guys that worked on the Diablo series and it shows. It is a mesh between the antics of Fate and the design and game mechanics of Diablo. Hopefully the multiplayer can live up to what the Single Player has brought to the table.

Although I am still disappointed in IW for their removal of Dedicated Servers from the PC version, I am enjoying this game immensely on the 360. I bought it on a console because of my buddies being console gamers more than because of the IWNet fiasco, however.

A very expansive tactical, party based and story driven RPG. There is a lot to this game and it will consume much of your time, but overall the game is a great experience with well developed characters and world to explore.
