Recently when waking my computer up from sleep, my computer would make a bios-type beeping sound coming out of my headphones. This beep would happen whenever I clicked a mouse button, or it would repeat continuously while moving the mouse around the screen. The mouse would also be unresponsive and I couldn't click on anything or use keyboard shortcuts, so basically a hard reset was required.

I thought my computer was dying on me, and was kind of excited to build a new one. But...

I found out that this is tied to a recent Windows update - KB3140743. Something about new xinput drivers.

The original update came out on March 1st I think, or thereabouts. There has since been another hotfix called KB3140768 that replaced the previous one and still causes the issue.

Here's some links to some forum posts where other people are figuring out ways around it

Empty out the chest then smack it with your axe. If you smack it when it's full it just shakes. If you smack it a bunch when it's full it might explode (it is a life sim).

I'm stuck on a traditional DSL line, so my latency is pretty terrible in a lot of online games. Is lag handled well in this game? Or will my shots not register if my ping is high?

I've wanted to play this game for years, but I was in the Navy and we had no internet for personal gaming in the middle of the ocean.

I got out a few months ago but where I'm living the best internet I can get is basic DSL, which sucks. Diablo 3 is unplayable on my connection, do you think PoE handles things differently?

I'm currently playing grim dawn to get my diablo 2 fix, and its fantastic. I really want to try PoE though. Might have to wait until I move this fall and get some better interwebs.

This thread is mind bottling.

La Mulana had an interesting jump. If you jump while standing still you can't move left or right until you reach the apex of the jump.

Why not just make the 3d video phone compatible and we can use Google cardboard to watch it?

The subsection of viewers that are interested in VR should have no problem downloading a video to their phone (or streaming it) and strapping it on their face.

Then the guys could just put a regular flattened video on the site with a PiP in one corner of them flailing around like idiots, like they do with kinect.

If something is not growing then it's stagnant.

I can't see anyone staying on the site long enough to develop the level of appreciation needed to convert them to a subscriber, if thats what they see.

Sure uBlock or adblock is something that would fix that, but that's not the point here. The point is that advertisements on that level of annoyingness give an overall negative opinion of the site. If I were new I wouldn't come back, which means I never would have subscribed.

So the question is (and its not really our place to answer this, or maybe not even to ask it): is the money gained from those type of ads enough to offset potential future subscribers lost?
