Biggest Disappointment of the year goes to Batman Arkham City. Arkham Asylum being one of my favorite games of the last couple years, it lost a ton of it's appeal to me in the transition to the open world. Arkham City/Gotham was interesting to look at, but it wasn't worth sacrificing the metroid style exploration elements of the first title for it. I absolutely adored, still do love Arkham Asylum, I traded in Arkham City at Gamestop the minute I beat it. And If Rocksteady continues with the bad open world stuff, I have 0 interest in another Rocksteady game.

  • I don't know what to say about this that hasn't been said. A technologically stunning title, fantastic performances by the cast, superb writing and thrilling set pieces. Yo, This is a fucking Uncharted game, and those are pretty good.

  • The open world elements were a tad unnecessary, driving from point to point with literally nothing else to do in the world. That being said, the incredible face scanning technology, the fantastic writing and amazing performances from the actors helped deliver one of the most cinematic and engaging story experiences I have ever...experienced... I need a thesaurus.

  • pretty rad (I've heard comparisons to Dante of all people from DMC, hate to break it to you, Dante was never awesome and if you think that you are kind of an idiot. ) The game is also legitimately funny, some jokes fall short (The big boner gag comes to mind) but there are so many jokes that hit where they aim to, it's easy to look past the weaker ones. It's a total shame this game sold as poorly as it did, and given the chance you should really pick it up.

  • Bethesda, always making these super ambitious, giant games that everybody loves. Truth be told, I have never really cared for a Bethesda game much, all that ambition is generally harmed by bland quests, poor map design, lackluster combat and technical issues galore. Skyrim has the technical issues, but I finally feel Bethesda's skills as a development studio has caught up with what they are trying to do, and I really enjoyed the 100 hours I put into this game. A game I couldn't care less about 3 months ago.

  • Everything Resident Evil wishes it could be, but is unable to accomplish.

  • In a market saturated by first person shooters, Bulletstorm was a colorful, interesting change of pace from the typical Sci-fi and Military FPS's.

  • Mass Effect 2 for PS3 came out this year, and it remains an awesome game - also the superior version of the console titles.
