Weird I just had the same thing happening. The Latest Videos section of the home page was going to random forum posts. Went to this forum, found this post, now their all working again.

Noticed that a Back to Youtube button has been added which seems to work. All the other video player bugs still happening but at least you can easily go back to the Youtube player for any videos that have YT versions.

Seems like there has been one change since I've been checking in. The videos I've started on the site now show the played bar beneath them, it's full which is wrong and they don't show up in Continue Watching (presumably because the site thinks I've finished them) but it seems like some part of this is tracking my activity.

I think I'm just seeing the same stuff everyone else is seeing. Resume doesn't work, doesn't list the video in Continue Watching. Videos are muted at the start. No option to switch to YouTube. Time code text wraps if the browser window is past a certain size.

This is my experience with Chrome on Windows anyway. I'll probably just use YouTube right now since video resume is pretty important to me.

Can confirm for me it was an adblocker on Chrome, which I've had installed for years so this is new. Adding an exception for the site solved it.

And I've also been a Premium Subscriber since the original Big Live Live Show Live so I haven't seen Ads on this site for nearly a decade. But the Ad Blocker was triggering on something and I wasn't seeing the video.

I don't want to read too much into this but it kind of sounds like more of a streaming focus and less pre-recorded video content. With the last year kind of being a test run on that as they rebuilt their video pipeline remotely.

I could see why the guys would leave since that's not really what they originally signed up for. I'll stick around as long as Jeff is still running things but I've got pretty mixed feelings until this all pans out.

IDK, it's not exactly much different than what they normally do. UPF is basically that in appetizer form. They've done longplay formats in many different flavors and since they've moved on from the Endurance Run those are mostly with chat open and folks watching live. Maybe Brad's dabbling with being an animated fox-man or sentient hamburger has awakened Vtuber life for the boys.

I agree that Giant Bomb has been a pioneer in longform content and streaming experiments. Vinny running a realtime FMV presentation comes to mind.

But based on Jeff's comments on the podcast about questioning the need for a Website and looking at how other teams who just make Twitch and Youtube content do it differently I just imagine a lot of the GB standbys like Quick Looks are probably going away or drastically changing.

Like if you compare how every Kinda Funny video is a panel discussion where they pull in various content creators outside their organization and name things for clicks (like this week's KF Gamescast is named "Resident Evil Village Review" instead of a funny reference to discussion topics like GB does it, even though that video is more than just a review of that game). I can kind of speculate to a more drastic pivot and approach to content virality than the evolution of the various GB video features we've seen since 2008.

Maybe this is splitting hairs but it sounds like something more drastic is incoming. I'm just hopeful it works out.

Just catching up on this now. I've been listening or reading their content since 2005 so not having Brad, Vinny and Alex as a weekly constant is going to take some adjusting since they've been great.

I was really hoping to demo Darkest Dungeon II to them at a show and obviously that couldn't happen in 2020 / 2021. And now knowing that Alex won't be covering it in a Quick Look really bums me out.

I've also met them all a few times at PAX shows and they've been very nice. I had a very long conversation with Vinny after both of us had tried the HTC Vive for the first time the same year that they rented out a club for live shows at PAX West.

I managed to snag an LG OLED a few years ago on a Costco clearance price just as they were swapping out for the next year's model.

I upgraded to a 4K monitor Black Friday 2019 which was a good upgrade to have before working from home every day. Though I find with most games if it does not have a DLSS option I'll run it at 1440p for a stable framerate.

Yakuza 3 I think is the weakest in the main series but all the Yakuza games build up to great finales in my opinion and even Yakuza 3 has a fun finale though the plot twists are very laughable.

My assumption with Yakuza 3 was that it was the first game Hase Seishū, the Japanese crime novelist, didn't write the main plot and it seems like the team that had previously written the comedic sidequests had a real struggle switching gears to also writing self serious crime drama. Yakuza 4 is a huge improvement in writing.
