I would, without a doubt, identify myself as a hipster. I've spent the last week fiddling with my typewriter, listening to to the upcoming Passion Pit album (Gossamer, releasing July 24, and both I and, if initial opinions are to be believed, Patrick would recommend it highly), and taking pictures of vinyl records I bought at the Brown Elephant resale shop in Chicago. I'm proud to be who I am. However, I often see a negative connotation behind the term.

Are you a hipster? If so, what makes you identify yourself that way? Are you proud of it?

EDIT: You can sample Gossamer here (of course it's on NPR!) http://www.npr.org/2012/07/15/156545328/first-listen-passion-pit-gossamer?sc=tw&cc=twmp

I know this may have been a small thing in the scheme of things, but there was a scene in season 4 where Hank is going over what he's found about Gus, and we find out that the laundromat and the chicken operation are both owned by a German corporation. I can see that coming back in a big way. Maybe the Germans, using a precise, highly organized team, come to New Mexico to cut off any loose ends, including Walt.

Anyone else think the Germans might play a role?

Just recently, long, in depth footage of Dishonored, Hitman: Absolution and Assassin's Creed 3 have been released. In my opinion, each one of those games looks positively amazing, and they're all coming out at around the same time frame. However, each one of them has something a little different to offer.

What are your guys' opinions on the current state of stealth? Do you think that you'll get burned out on sneaking around? Which game's style of stealth do you prefer?

I'm pretty sure that I've turned myself into Reese Witherspoon from Election. Anyone ever seen it? I'm an overachiever at school, but that comes at the expense of my social life. I'm kinda lonely, even though I have a great, loving family to fall back on. I don't really have a rough life, though. Just hormones, loneliness, and depression. Also, I'm gay, and this is literally the first time I've told anybody, so that could come back and bite me in the ass.

I'm sorry 'bout the rest of your guy's childhood though. I've got nothing compared to some of you guys.

@Rebel_Scum: Sorry! I thought by putting the entire forum in spoiler mode that would be OK.

I'm all for being negative on the internet, but I love balance. So, in conjunction with thinking about piece of shit endings, what is your favorite ending from a video game?

Call me a hipster, but I love the ending to Limbo. The puzzle before it implicates that your character may have died in a car crash through the quiet, poignant imagery of flying through the glass and returning to a similar position and area as where you started. I love the quiet approach to the female silhouette, illuminated by some light above under a ladder. After the credits, you see their corpses at the same spot, under a rotted ladder.

I love endings that leave the player to interpret what happened. I have always assumed that their spirits moved on, up the ladder, leaving their physical bodies to rot in Limbo.

EDIT: This forum idea may be played out already, and if so I'm sorry, but, hey, it's Sunday, and on the internet that means not much is happening. So why don't you stay awhile and spin a yarn of some great games?

I really didn't like Max Payne 3's ending. It didn't feel right with the character, even though he had resolved a bit of the torment within himself. It seems like you can't go through that much fucked-up stuff, kill one dude, and move on with your life.

I'll echo some other people with things like Forrest Gump... but The Illusionist definitely saps any joy out of me. It's the same concept that Toy Story 3 grapples with, moving on from your visions of fantasy, but there's none of that hope that Toy Story leaves you with. I think it was one of the building blocks of my cynicism .

One of the (perhaps made up) problems with being a young gamer is that there isn't a great way to play the old JRPGs that you weren't around to experience. So far, I have only enjoyed Chrono Trigger and Dark Souls.
