Why publishers might not know shit about games.

I think it's a fair assumption that developers and publishers are like apples and oranges. For the most part, developers want to make quality games for gamers, publishers want to publish games that will make them money. The problem is that developers would likely be more in touch with what works over a bunch of suits. Case in point, this piece on Joe Danger and the publishers that passed up the opportunity to snatch a pretty popular game for PSN. Here's what happens to be my favorite quote of the week.

"We want games that are less about fun right now." - Bobby Kotick

Okay, so they didn't actually say who quoted what, I'm just making an educated guess.

I don't know, I haven't played the game, but it turned out to be great. There is a bright side to this ordeal, though. None of these publishers turned down Bejeweled... or did they?

Fucking publishers are money-grubbing bastards who don't have a fucking clue if they are publishing shit or not; they just want the fucking money!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry, had to get that out of my system; I agree with you entirely, Dalai, and that quote makes me want to punch a puppy because of the amount of retardation behind it.
