Best Free MMO Games List 2013

Year 2012 saw the release of many wonderful games and it also heard the announcement of some others that are stored for the next year. For MMORPG fans, it is another happy, entertaining year with games. Well, there is over a month and a half to go, so it’s still early to make the summary of this year. But to count what we can have in 2013? It can never be too early. And it is surprising to find that you’ve already had many choices promising a new year of fun. Here are some new mmorpg games for 2013.

1. ArcheAge

Black Desert is a highly-anticipated fantasy MMORPG with a series of exciting features. It has a seamless open world the same size of Vanilla WoW, in which players can explore around for adventure, fight scaled battles full of action against monsters and real-players, and purchase houses in the towns to serve specific purposes. It is being developed by Pearl Abyss, the C9 creator, and slated to come out in South Korea for the public in August or September of 2013.

3. Blade & Soul

BLESS is a story-driven fantasy MMORPG set in the backdrop of Medieval Age. It revolves around the conflicts of two rival nations, monarchial Hieron and individualistic Union, and thusly leads players into the expansive warfare in the seamless, vast land. There are ten races (each with its own story) for either faction, and fierce battles that will be fought on land, sea and sky. PvP, epic raids, massive castle siege, Realm vs. Realm and missions, etc. are prepared for combatants to strengthen their power and access to new resources and quest lines if they triumph. And a special End-game content will make sure players have something new to pursue even when they reach max level. Built on Unreal 3, the game will present gorgeous graphics with details. BLESS is said to have the first CBT in early 2013 in Korea only. And no word is revealed about the localization in western land yet.

5. EverQuest Next

Lineage Eternal is an epic free-to-play MMORPG developed by NCsoft Korea. It shares the same backdrop universe with its predecessors, presents the classic isometric view and offers epic battles with hundreds of enemies. It builds on the traditional patterns of an MMO, but differentiates itself with the innovative combat system, due to the mouse-based skills. Instead of pressing buttons to use skills, players can do more with their mouse controlling the character in battles and better immerse in the battle with more initiative. Draw a circle to unleash area-of-effect damage to enemies within reach, or draw lines to give the arrows of the ranger charged shots – players can expect more. The game is planned to come out in 2013 with a beta test occurring in late 2012.

7. Pathfinder Online

Red Stone 2: Adventures of Prominence, the sequel to the original Red Stone, made debut in the G-Star 2012 and caught much attention with its rich and interesting features. The game will have different character classes, dual-class-based transformation system, engaging party play and combinations, survival dungeons on the open world and basic concepts of PvE, PvP and RvR. All of these are rendered in a 3D world with awesome graphics in an anime art concept. Red Stone 2 is slated to have an alpha test in March 2013.

9. Survarium

The Elder Scrolls Online is the first MMORPG built on the popular Elder Scrolls franchise. It is set in the continent of Tamriel a thousand years before The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, and features a storyline of its own. Three warring factions are against each other over the throne of the empire. An intriguing world, unique quest line, exciting combat and politics in the faction will all be there. The game was announced in May of this year after 5 years’ secret development, and it is scheduled to be released in 2013.

11. The Repopulation

Wildstar is an upcoming action MMORPG that presents hardcore gameplay under the wrap of cartoony artworks. Different from any other MMO games, Wildstar offers a special Path System on the top of races and classes, which allows players to pursue a distinct play style as Explorer, Scientist, Soldier and Settler in the planet of Nexus. And the mysterious planet will open to players differently based on their choice of path.
