Kingdom Hearts is still my favorite game franchise, and cannot wait till the third one comes out. When Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days came out I thought that this could be pretty cool knowing the whole story of Roxas and the Organization. Now Birth by Sleep? Well um ok, the prequel to the whole Kingdom Hearts series I wish it wasn't on PSP but whatever. They have to come out with Kingdom Hearts 3 now or a Kingdom Hearts game on a console right? Nope they are doing Kingdom Hearts ReCoded, sigh.

This is now the third consecutive portable Kingdom Hearts game to come out/announced. I'm not to upset about this but I'm just starting to become a little impatient. I purposely bought a DS just for 358/2 Days and I don't wanna fork out another 200$ just for Birth by Sleep. Well I guess I have no choice but to wait (and buy a PSP).
 
So what do you Kingdom Hearts fans think about ReCoded and where this amazing franchise is going?

Amazing is a strong word for a franchise that only made 2 good games and a bunch of okay handheld games.

I could care less about the convoluted and not so Disney trend the series is going toward.

How do you propose they make Kingdom Hearts 3?
It's like Star Wars at this point, they just keep fleshing out the backstory.
 

I don't know enough about ReCoded to say yet, but I do know the KH team is making FF vs XIII now and when thats done then we'll hear more about KH 3...

Let's be real. Kingdom Hearts 1 had a pretty cool story. Then Chain of Memories came to make it convoluted. Then Kingdom Hearts 2 came and totally lost me. Kingdom Hearts was an awesome idea until they started drifting away from the whole reason people played it; the characters. I don't care about Roxas, or the Nobodies, or the organization. I like the Disney characters and the people on Twilight island with Sora. Everyone else can go to hell.

I'm a fan of the series but it can totally get confusing. Please no more hand helds! (I did hear promising things about the PSP game).

I hear that after these two games they are making the push to Kingdom Hearts 3, meaning we should see it in a time structure that Square possess: 2 years and then pushed back another 1 1/2 years

Square Enix couldn't seem less interested in making another console-based Kingdom Hearts game at this point.  I've heard people say that KH3 is next up once they're done with FF Versus XIII, but I'm not sure why anyone thinks this is true.  The portable KH games they've been putting out are almost certainly cheaper than a console game would be and probably sell about as well, maybe even better in Japan where everyone only cares about portable games.  I could be wrong. but I wouldn't be surprised if we never saw another Kingdom Hearts game on a console.

Seeing how Square Enix can just put out coasters with Final Fantasy something on it & get acres of money, I think that   anything nonportable KH is going to be a long ways off so best is to just be patient with the handhelds & #1-2 of KH. Until they announce something more on it, nobody will know anything more on what Square is doing.

Has anyone even considered that Kingdom Hearts is not a trilogy and is instead just two games?

Fuck Kingdom Hearts!!!  You give me a game with all these kick ass Disney and Final Fantasy characters and I am stuck playing as the biggest dorks ever.  Would  you rather play as freakin' Tron or some lame spikey hair kid that dresses 10 times worse then Tidus from FF10 ?

At the rate they are moving with Versus, we probably won't see KH3 until the next console cycle.
