In the late 90s there was no other game that captured the HK action fantasy (ala Tsu Hark) genre than Fear Effect. The use of Buddist and Taoist mythology the sci-fi setting, it pretty much had it all. I was so psyched that a third was in the making. I guess it was killed off cos no publisher gave a fuck and didn't think money would return on this darkhorse.

Overstrike was cool, fun, edgy and BADASS! FUSE looks like a bland, thick necked, dah dah idiot version of "badass!" Art style can change the tone so much.

Bonnie & Clyde co-op narrative doesn't sound bad. What went wrong, worst pieces of shit have been released than this.

Who knows this could've been the Anti-War game to end all Modern Warfare games. It would've changed the COD clones and probably would've stepped up Spec-Ops the Line.

What could have been we'll never know. I guess its too old for most, but Dirty Harry, Death Wish and to lesser extent the one offs like Ms. 45, I Spit On Your Grave, The Brave One etc would make interesting games in todays world. Instead of just killing for the sake of killing, a motivated story blurring the lines of right and wrong.

A StarCraft Multiverse would be more interesting than just sequels. Also if the game came back, Ghost would be an apt name considering.

Which one could it have been, Bethesda's Fallout or Interplay's Fallout? Bethesda did what Interplay never could, make massive RPG(s) on the consoles and have them be successful where it count($). Interplay and (Brian Fargo) helped build PC gaming to where it is today and gave many developers their first big break.
Neither of this matters anymore. History is only written and remembered by the survivors.
