Games I Have Played In 2011

In the continuing spirit of past lists detailing the games I played in 2009 and 2010, I've also decided to keep a record of every game I finish in 2011. By 'finish', I generally mean that I've seen the credits roll on the single-player portion of a game. In open-ended games with no discernible end, I'll simply include them if I've spent a lot of time with them. As always, I'll be including some brief thoughts on every game in the list. Last year I hit a total of thirty games finished. Will I equal that in 2011? Only time will tell.

If you keep up this level of notation, it's always good to see.
I want Skyrim to succeed, but there's so many ways it may not live up to my (admittedly not that ambitious) expectations. Quests that don't bug or glitch, simple stuff like that.  Gar.

Just noticed that you replayed through Halo: CE, did you play new Anniversary version or the original? Also, how do you think the game holds up ten years later?

@Lebensbaum: I played the original Xbox version, albeit on a 360, and I was really impressed with how well it holds up. I originally played it about five years ago, when I wasn't very au-fait with FPS games, so it was my first 'proper' FPS. I liked it a lot, but didn't really think it was anything more than a well-made game. It's also, to date, the only Halo game I've ever played. Going back to it with a wider knowledge of the FPS genre, I think it's a lot better than I remembered it being. The pacing of the campaign is fantastic, and most of the levels have this huge open feel to them that encourages the player to experiment with different approaches to each area. Certain aspects of the game have undoubtedly dated, like the bare-bones menu options (you can't edit settings mid-game? Really?) and the graphics (although they're by no means awful), but the content of the campaign itself is still on a par with the original Half-Life, another one of my favourite first-person shooters.
