Over the years, I've accumulated quite a lot of video games. Unfortunately, time and circumstances haven't allowed me to finish all of them. Those games that I haven't yet completed find their home here - my Pile of Shame. Hopefully I'll be able to whittle this list down over time.

Why It's On This List - I bought Alice: Madness Returns during the Steam Summer Sale of 2012, for just under £4.
Priority - LOW - Bought on a whim, the prospect of actually playing Alice: Madness Returns has lessened over time. I may end up playing it eventually, but it's by no means a priority.

Why It's On This List - Like a good percentage of the PC games on this list, I bought AvP very cheaply in a Steam sale. I think it was only about £2. Having only a rubbish laptop at the time, I wasn't able to run it. Now I have a better computer, it's a viable option to play through in the future.
Priority - LOW - I have no investment in either franchise, nor any real desire to see how this game plays. If I do ever play it, it won't be any time soon.

Why It's On This List - The last few years have really turned me on to action RPGs. While I'm aware of Alpha Protocol's janky nature, I feel like I could look past those problems and enjoy this game for what it is.
Priority - MEDIUM - Having loved other action-RPG titles like Mass Effect, I'm keen to give Alpha Protocol a chance some time soon. I'd like to beat Mass Effect 3 first, though.

Why It's On This List - And Yet It Moves was included with Gish, Jolly Rover, Puzzle Agent and Recettear in a ridiculously cheap Steam Indie bundle a while back. Always a sucker for a great deal, I succumbed to the impulse purchase.
Priority - LOW - The concept seems pretty interesting, but I have a lot of short indie games on my Pile of Shame, and none of them are my highest priority.

Priority - HIGH - Now a firm fan of the Assassin's Creed franchise, I'm eager to discover how Ezio's story arc ends. If it takes its gameplay cues from Brotherhood, and supports them with a story as strong as ACII's, this could wind up being my favourite AC game of the lot.

Priority - LOW - I'll be honest here - the prospect of playing Bayonetta has never really gripped me. I simply bought it to round out the aforementioned deal so I could get Max Payne 3 at a steal of a price. If I do ever get round to playing it, it won't be any time soon.

Why It's On This List - Talk to any gamer on the internet, and they'll probably tell you how great Beyond Good & Evil is. I talked to them, and consequently ended up buying a copy of this PS2 adventure game to see what all the fuss is about.
Priority - HIGH - The praise this game has received makes me feel quite eager to check it out. The next time I'm in the mood for some character action, this could be the game to scratch that itch.

Why It's On This List - It was about £3.50 on Steam, and it's made by one of the guys responsible for Super Meat Boy. When it ticks all those boxes, how could I ever have said no?
Priority - LOW - My chances of seeing the end of this game aren't directly tied to my chances of playing it. They're much more closely linked with my chances of actually making it any further than the fourth level. Maybe one day I'll beat it, but it's as much down to luck as it is skill.

Why It's On This List - I'm pretty sure I bought Braid on Steam back when my 360 wasn't yet online, so this was the only way I'd have been able to experience it at the time. The time-bending puzzles seemed like something I could appreciate.
Priority - MEDIUM - It's very rare these days that I'm ever in the mood for a 2D platformer. That itch was most recently scratched by Super Meat Boy, and that's satisfied my hunger for the foreseeable future. When it does resurface, though, I'll probably turn to Braid.

Priority - MEDIUM - I really enjoyed the first Darksiders, a lot more than I'd expected to. If this sequel is more of the same, and if my laptop can run it, I'll definitely get on this ASAP.

Why It's On This List - Short answer - Endurance Run. Long answer - from what I've seen of Deadly Premonition, I think it's the kind of game I could really appreciate. It's supposedly mechanically flawed, but full of heart.
Priority - MEDIUM - I keep getting dragged towards playing Deadly Premonition, but I keep moving away from it again, and always for the same simple reason - I have better games that I want to play. I'm sure my curiosity will get the better of me sooner or later, though.

Why It's On This List - My parents bought me the Ultimate Edition of Dragon Age: Origins as a Christmas present for Christmas 2010. Given that I've had some great experiences with Western fantasy RPGs recently, I'm really interested to see what this game is all about.
Priority - MEDIUM - Dragon Age: Origins is clearly a massive game - even more so given that this edition comes with all the DLC included. With less time on my hands to play games than ever before, it's simply a question of whether or not I'll find enough time to play through the whole thing.

Why It's On This List - I found Dragon Quest VIII in my local Tesco back in 2006 or 2007, for the crazy-low price of about £8 brand new. Being a fan of JRPGs, I snapped it up without hesitation with a view to playing it through some time. Despite dabbling with it a few times, I've never seen this epic quest through to the end.
Priority - HIGH - Having played through a Dragon Quest game in 2011 and really enjoyed it, I could definitely see myself sitting down to finish this at some point.

If I do ever play through it, it'll probably be using a walkthrough - that way I can experience the story and world (the things I really love about Fallout 3), without having to struggle too much with the gameplay side of things.

Why It's On This List - I remember getting Final Fantasy VIII for my eleventh birthday. In a lot of ways it marks the origin of my Pile of Shame - I got it before finishing Final Fantasy VII, and spent some of my birthday money picking up the newly-released Final Fantasy IX. Despite the fact I've owned this game for over ten years, I've still never seen the credits.
Priority - HIGH - I plan to tackle Final Fantasy VIII as soon as I've finished Enduring Final Fantasy VII.

Why It's On This List - As a long-time fan of the Final Fantasy series, this iteration has long been one of my favourites. Priority - HIGH - Like I said, it's one of my favourite FF games. I need to see the end of this thing.

Why It's On This List - A self-confessed fan of all things Final Fantasy, I picked up this DS sequel to FFXII around the time of its release. Given that I've never completed FFXII, though, you'll probably be unsurprised to learn that this has never even made it out of its box.
Priority - MEDIUM - I love the characters and universe of FFXII, so I'd definitely be on board to experience more of that. However, I need to actually finish FFXII itself first.

Why It's On This List - Yet another one of my favourite games that really doesn't deserve to be on this list. I've been impressed by this PSP port of the original Final Fantasy Tactics, on account of its incredible depth and captivating story. Unfortunately, I've just never made it to the end.

Why It's On This List - Being from the UK, this was my first exposure to the Final Fantasy Tactics franchise, and also my first ever strategy RPG. I played hundreds of hours of it as a young teen, and even dabbled heavily with the multiplayer with a couple of friends, but sadly I never saw the conclusion to Marche's tale back then.
Priority - HIGH - I've been playing this on and off for a few months now. Hopefully I'll see the end of it soon.

Why It's On This List - I played a lot of Gran Turismo 4 back in the day, but never hit a 100% completion percentage in the GT Mode. Fast-forward to March 2013 and a burst of nostalgia inspired me to re-buy the game and give it another crack.
Priority - MEDIUM - I would like to revisit this and find out how it all holds up. I don't know if I'd ever see the end of its vast GT mode, but I certainly wouldn't mind another crack at it!

Why It's On This List - Back in 2009 I played Soul Reaver 2, and was captivated by its environmental puzzle-based gameplay and fantastic voice acting. Fast forward a couple of years and I was lucky enough to find its predecessor in a bargain bin in my local GameStation, for about £1.50.
Priority - MEDIUM - I played through most of Soul Reaver in April 2012, but my playthrough was cut short by persistent disc read errors. Now I have the game on PC, I hope to see Raziel's journey across Nosgoth through to its end sooner rather than later.

Why It's On This List - I remember buying this along with the original Medal of Honor in a double-pack around 2002 or 2003. I was studying WWII at school at the time so I was pretty heavily into that aesthetic, but didn't have the money to drop on the more impressive Frontline, so I got this instead. Despited playing both to death, I never finished either.

Priority - MEDIUM - Having played through TR: The Last Revelation in 2011, I'm pretty sure I could happily return to TRII without having to worry about re-adjusting to the antiquated graphics or gameplay. Given how much I loved this back in the day, I'd really like to re-visit it at some point and see if it holds up.

Why It's On This List - I bought Uncharted 2 as one of the first exclusives to check out on my new PS3 in March 2013.
P:riority - HIGH - Having just come off the back of the new Tomb Raider, I'm very eager to check out Naughty Dog's trilogy of action games. I'll have to play the original first, but to say I'm excited to play through this is an understatement.

Why It's On This List - I received it as a Christmas present, around 2003/4. I can't remember if I actually asked for it, or if my parents just bought it for me because it was 'like Final Fantasy'. Either way, I was left very disappointed by the totally random battle mechanics and apparent absence of interactivity, and it's been sitting gathering dust on my shelf ever since.
Priority - LOW - I didn't like the game back then, and given I've grown even further apart from JRPGs since then, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't like it now. The only reason I'd ever see myself turning back to this game is if I ran out of other games to play.

Why It's On This List - I impulse-bought The Witcher on Good Old Games near the end of 2011, while it was at the offer price of $10. Given that I've recently discovered a love of Western RPGs, and after hearing great things about the franchise, I look forward to eventually checking this out.

Why It's On This List - Zeno Clash was one of my purchases in the 2012 Steam Summer Sale.
Priority - LOW - The art direction of Zeno Clash is incredibly striking, and what drew me towards it in the first place. The positive reviews it received on its release mean I'll most likely give it a chance in the fairly near future.
