There is a key to unlock the door somewhere in blighttown i can't quite remember where thou.

So far, I have not found where to boost or even buy the pyromancer spells yet. However I have found where to upgrade your other two spell classes.

And even if you are stuck with 8 casts for the game the damage i'm sure you can jack up and still its 8 free ranged attacks.
