Always nice to see someone else giving Good Omens props. I still need to see Parasite and a few other movies you listed, although I don't usually make my movie list until around the Oscar's so I can watch the movies at home if I missed them in theaters.
What did you think of Us compared to Get Out? A lot of people seem to prefer Get Out but I felt Us was significantly better and like you, it left me chewing on a lot long after the credits were done rolling.
I had never even heard of Judgement but your brief synopsis sold me on it. Then I saw it is only on PS4, and unfortunately my PS4 has also shit the bed recently and at this point I have no plans to replace it seeing as how new consoles will be coming next year. :(
Finding any souls-like games (is that the official term now?) relaxing is fucking crazy to me. I think you might have something wrong with you. You should seek help.
15 second bosses on hard? That seems like an exaggeration.
Note: Some spoilers are in all the following clips.
Here is a late game Soul Devourer on Give Me a Challenge (Video). I play through it super clumsy and yet barely take any damage every time I'm hit. It goes from 90% health to dead in less than 10 seconds. For comparison, here is me getting killed in a single hit by a regular enemy in Niflheim on Give Me God of War (Video).
The thing is, when you get through a combat encounter without getting hit, it feels differently depending on the difficulty, with neither being that sweet spot of badassery. Take this encounter, on hard. If I got hit, I would lose a tiny bit of health but I was never in any real danger. It might as well be Dynasty Warriors at that point. On the other hand, this encounter, on very hard, had me sweating even though I was at full health because I was one hit away from getting killed (one hit would stun then everyone jumps on you).
Something in the middle of both difficulties would have been great. Although I fully admit difficulty is super subjective and maybe some people felt the choices on offer were fine.
It might not be related to video games, but Undeadpool's write up on why Netflix's rendition of "The Tick" is a breath of fresh air when compared to the state of comic book television and movie adaptations.
The Tick is by Amazon not Netflix.
Edit: Whoops completely missed that the other people had already caught it. My bad.
What the hell is with these lazy unfinished blog posts? I started getting into it and then I see Ratchet and Clank and I am super interested to hear your opinion on it because I haven't played it despite loving the first two games on PS2 and suddenly it becomes nothing but pictures. This is some bullshit. Why you gotta play with my emotions like that?
