Even though I've never been the biggest fan of Jon Snow and his storyline I'd say this was probably the best episode in a long time purely because it felt like an episode and not a clip-show. While I haven't read the books I'm assuming this is more akin to how the story is told there, big chunks of single story-lines instead of a mish-mash. And if it works there, why not for the show ?

Actually the books are kind of like the show in this regard. It might be little more jumpy on tv but I suppose it's inevitable when you have so many different characters and only 10 hours a season.

yeah he defiantly was dumb but I don't think that's all out of character for him. I think the fact that he was so fearless is what led him to make those mistakes.

If he were that fearless though, he would have died long ago. He is a cautious, evasive fighter and even his fighting style during that showdown proved it.

I don't know why I wrote "fearless" in my post, I meant to write feared. Oh well.

I think this fight is very different from anything else for him. For one it was against the mountain, most people would be out of the fight after everything he did. He was also very emotional during the fight and the longer the fight went on the more emotional he got. I think these factors combined with his confidence did him in.

As someone who read all the books, the latest episode just reinforced how much I hate that fight. Not simply because a cool character died, it was just utterly pointless. Oberyn should have won and he should have known to not let his guard down like that. I really just think it comes down to a poorly written part of the story. Oberyn is portrayed as being so fearless and one of Westeros' most elite warriors. He wouldn't simply walk around a massive, powerful body like that after only a few stabs from a spear.

I'm just glad it's over as that was the worst part of the entire series IMHO. Man, GRRM really missed the mark with Oberyn I feel. His character just doesn't make any sense.

@zevvion: Totally on the same page as you regarding Oberyn. He acted like a damn child when he was fighting. It was like everything we knew of him up until then was a totally different person. It's not just hearsay too - he was a proven, experienced, hardened warrior, one of the best in the entire known world, and he fell to the fucking Mountain. I just hated everything to do with his entire character. He feels unfinished and rushed or something.

yeah he defiantly was dumb but I don't think that's all out of character for him. I think the fact that he was so fearless is what led him to make those mistakes.

I don't think it's unethical at all. If you have everyone reviewing your game a week before it's out you might have less excrement on release day because not as many people will be talking about your game. As long as their not letting more positive reviews go early or giving some places a exclusive early review I see no problem.

Why is Adam Sandler successful? Comedy is very rarely of any sort of higher quality, it caters to mostly dumb audiences. There's certainly some dumb movies that are legitimately funny (and even comedians that are consistently funny while being dumb, e.g. Chris Farley); but for the most part success as a comedian doesn't have much to do with how good of a comedian you are. Family Guy was okay a long time ago, but it sure as hell isn't Seinfeld.

It's all taste, I am not a fan of Mcfarlane but can you say he is a bad comedian when so many people find him funny? Calling his audience dumb is also a bit much, I've known plenty of smart people who like family guy.

If your mom has the money to pay for stuff, let her. If she kicks the bucket that money is going to you anyway so what is the difference?

I think the difference is that she might want to buy other things with the money she would be paying in rent. In any case if it were at all possible I would prefer that she not pay rent. My dad too for that matter.

I am terrible at handling crisis situations. I tend to very emotional when these situations arise and can't think straight, I wouldn't say videogames have helped or hurt in these situations but then again I tend to go for slower paced games where I have a lot of time to think things through.

I bought Enemy Within a few months ago and got pretty far into my playthrough. Then I had a real shit show of a mission that saw the death of almost all of my high ranking officers, and because it was Ironman I had to start over. My next 2 or 3 playthroughs resulted in failures and even though I'd love to play the game again, I'm really sick of starting over. I might get to it someday. Enemy Within adds a ton of really exciting content.

I just beat the game on classic and I can't imagine ironman. I like the idea of it but I just run into so many weird bugs. For instance in one mission I ran into seekers and the game would freeze when ever I saw them even after restarting the game so I think if it was ironman it would have ended my game right there, though maybe I'm wrong. Another one is that my heavies will go blind and not use cover when I move them to it.
