List of games that I either really want to play or want to know more about (and often both).

List items

  • Having played through both the Witcher 1 and 2 multiple times, it is an understatement to say that I am invested in this series. The plot, atmosphere, and strangely engaging combat of the first game had me hooked, but it was the intricacy of the graphics and storytelling in the second installment that had me chomping at the bit for this third game. And it isn't just the games themselves that have garnered my support and enthusiasm; CD Projekt is perhaps my favorite developer currently out there. Their games might not be the best I've ever played, but I share their views and sentiments regarding the industry as a whole, and admire their efforts in things like going DRM-free and communicating warmly and openly with their community. The Witcher 3 is a guaranteed preorder for me.

  • I have decided to put this on my list after playing through enough of the Walking Dead: Season 2. The writing of the second season made me yearn for more writing by the people who were responsible for TWD: Season 1, and if they've moved on to Firewatch, then I will too. Top it off with help from both Nels Anderson and Olly Moss and I've basically purchased a first class ticket aboard the hype train.

  • I have played neither Ico nor Shadow of the Colossus, yet when I saw the trailer for Rime I immediately made the connection. It seemed a little too derivative at first, but I began to care less and less after I played such games as Proteus and Dear Esther. I realized that I would simply relish exploring a world such as the one Rime claims to offer someday, and as more and more details emerge about how the world will be more than simply ruins and wilderness, my enthusiasm grows ever greater.

  • I know basically nothing about this game besides the fact that the art style is appealing and the music is good. What little action I've seen reminds me of Bastion, which can only be a good thing, but beyond that, Hyper Light Drifter remains up in the air.

  • I suppose there isn't much I can say to justify my enthusiasm for No Man's Sky besides the fact that the trailer had a terrific art style and the conceptual ambition behind the project is staggering. A procedurally generated universe to explore sounds crazy to begin with, but such a project being developed by the Joe Danger team?!?! Seems ridiculous, but I simply can't help but be enthrall end by what could come of this endeavor.
