As someone who just got a Ps3 last Christmas, I don't care about graphics. I can still play Ps1 games and N64 games. I still play Chrono Trigger and I'll probably start FFVI for the first time soon.

I guess I'll add Earthbound since no one else has, even though I've never got very far in it. Also, I don't know how old "old school" is to you, but Legend of Dragoon for PS1 is awesome.

I think what he's referencing is mostly games like Bayonetta that are ported to the PS3 and are horribly glitched and broken, much like my copy of UFC Undisputed 2009 is plagued with slowdown and stuttering that never happened when I played it on 360. I doesn't have to look better, but it needs to be competent. Frame rate issues are unacceptable.
