This was an enjoyable podblast :)

Dan, I think I know what poison you were thinking of. Almonds naturally contain tiny amounts of cyanide. That's why you can get sick from eating way too many of them. It's also why people poisoned by cyanide say they can taste almonds, since it's derived from them.

Now I remember what I disliked about XCOM, that the enemy always reacted when you found them so you couldn't sneak up on them or anything.

Place a squadsight sniper in overwatch before you move the rest of your guys. That way you can ambush the pods you activate.

If sneaking up on guys is your kind of thing, you'll love XCOM2. The sequel is all about alpha volleys, taking out the enemy before they get their first turn. They arguably took it too far and gave us too many ways to one-turn enemies. Personally, I think it's good that the two games play so different since it lends replay value to both instead of having one game replace the other.

Okay first things first. I love xcom, I love that you're playing xcom, I love Abby, I love Dan, I love Alex and I love Vinny.

Having said that, I also love seeing your faces as you play. Would you mind incorporating a little facecam, please?

I'm done following the regular bombcast if Brown is going to show up every few episodes. Too many games I'm behind on. Don't want them spoiled.

Finally got around to listening to this. I skipped the 40 minute spoiler part, but I'm still upset that I had to. Please go back to making seperate spoilercasts when you want to talk about the endings to new or unreleased games. You did that with MGS4 and several other games. Alternatively, don't have Brown on as a guest since the entire Zelda section was "Do you want me to tell you what thing X is?" "No, we don't want you to tell us."

We get it, Peter. You know stuff. Good for you.

@sloppydetective:Nothing about the new Zelda appeals to me so Zelda talk doesn't bother me outside of it being uninteresting. Nier however is my kind of game. Having not listened to this episode, I don't know the why it was necessary to talk about late game stuff before it's out on all platforms. I don't go out of my way to avoid spoilers, but I don't seek them out either. I like Giant Bombs usual approach where new games get a grace window of a couple of weeks.

WTF Peter! The game isn't even out yet on Steam.

I listen to the podcast at work, and due to working a lot in isolation with oils and grease, I don't have the luxury of tinkering with my device without going through a whole thing of getting contaminants off my hands first. In short, I have to skip this bombcast for a later time since I can't reliably pause when it gets to the Nier spoiler. The weekly episodes of the bombcast and beastcast are big highlights for me. This pisses me off royally.

At least dogs don't have a parasite living in their poop that changes your brain chemistry to love them more and drive slightly more aggressively.

A rival gaming podcast ruined cats for me with their toxo talk.

The Mario Show dog has the exact same color pattern as Poochy in Yoshis Island.

I like to think someone at Nintendo saw that episode and found an excuse to work it into a game.
