Yep, Steam is a great resource, the Source games are a must, and I'd pick up Gmod for S's and G's. Personally I love Mount and Blade, although it's a bit indie, it's a solid game. Essentially any FPS is good for PC. The Dawn of War collection is good, although you should probably go Dawn of War 2 now, with the expansion due out in a few months.

I wonder how much you would get for your older games? Like as a collection that could be worth thousands, especially the obscure ones.

  • I think more immersion of colours and textures, they just don't blend well together. There's always a clear line where the grass stops and the road begins, the rock's edge and the ground. That needs to change.  Also, particles, you can never have to many particles. We're seeing some good bullet impacts on ground these days, they need to keep that up, maybe characters running creates dust?  Having said that, ...

Looks like I'm going PC ;) which is good considering I can now toss up between the other two for my PS3 game.

  • Big budget games are a safe bet, they usually have the length, content and graphics to get a decent sell, even if they're not particularly amazing. The downside is that if you want a good sell, it'll cost you. Small budget games are less likely to sell, but simpply because they're more diverse, they can get a fluke, and nail exactly what the market wants, equaling big payout. I haven't ...

  • I would want almost every COD2 map, they were SO good for sniping. Overgrown from CoD4, maybe Crash as well. And the one that a had a huge road running straight down the center, and each team spawned at either end.

I know this game is coming out in while, but considering I'm throwing up between this, M.A.G. and Just Cause 2, I thought I'd get the drop on it. So should I get this for either PS3 or PC? I like to play most of my games on PC, and it will have better graphics, but I played a little of the first (not multiplayer) on PS3, so I'm not ...

  • No, those who say that you're not a 'real' fan or something are just pretentious assholes. You are a fan, just not of all of the canon.

  • @DystopiaX: See I think it has aged remarkably well, obviously not graphics wise, but the game is still fun to play, if a little easy. The multiplayer is also still a TON of fun. What game has timed mines, proximity mines and remote mines all in the multiplayer at once?

  • I heard somewhere, although I could be completely wrong, that you actually play as one of Desmond's forbears, who goes into the Animus and plays as Desmond. Although I liked the historic settings, a WWII or even a Cold War one might be nice.

  • The fact that Goldeneye for the 64 is not in top 5 automatically makes this list redundant.  And yes, CoD4 is too high, although it's nice to see they included modern games, WoW does deserve to be in the top 200, but nowhere near No. 11, furthermore I think they love Zelda a bit too much.

Cloud Computing, for those of you who don't know, is using an external data storage for all your files and media, that can be accessed remotely, either by your computer, possibly your games console, your phone or any other media device. The advantage is that, provided you have the money, you have virtually unlimited space, as server farms would be constructed to house this data, and constantly expanded. Using advanced Wi-Fi or other wireless connections, you simply turn on your device, link into your set of data, and away you go, no need for bulky hard disks. Furthermore the same data can be accessed by different devices, so no need to copy a song from PC to Ipod, it'll just access your data.

For gaming, this basically means that if you want a game, you don't go to a store and buy a disk, then install it, you buy from the internet and it'll appear in your data. Quite possibly it'll only save your particular information to the data, so you literally just buy the game and your good to go, no need to install whatsoever.

My problem with Cloud Computing is that your data is not physically kept by you. While data farms would be protected by huge amounts of both electronic and physical security, the fact remains your documents, movies etc, are not physically held by you. This leads to all kinds of privacy, copyright and ownership issues. Also is the question of who would have access to this material? Would the Government? The CIA? The companies that run the server farms themselves? God forbid, Corporations? The advantage of current hard drives is that while the data contained is in virtual form, it is also physically owned by you, and assuming it's not connected to the internet, you control who has access to it.

While Cloud Computing is still only in the realm of prototypes and theory, we still don't have fast enough or well covered Wi-Fi, these questions are still valid, as many technologies being developed today are designed with Cloud Computing in mind.

Massive fan of the 'ol Duke Nukem 3D, still have it too. But I don't think they'll ever bring it out, if they do, it simply won't have the old 'Shootin aliens, bangin chicks' feel to it, an old classic arcade like that can't compete with games like that these days.

The Sims 3 is...oh. (PC)
This is my review of EA's the Sims 2.5 - ugh, I mean Sims 3. This is the third installment of the best selling Sims franchise, and the only one to not have creator Will Wright on the team. At its heart, it's pretty much what you'd expect from a ...
