Ensemble Studios- Shutting Down (R.I.P)

Earlier this week, Microsoft Studios decided to shut down the well known Age of Empires franchise developers,

R.I.P. =(

Ensemble Studios. ES was an amazing game development studio as the company has made many addicting, inspiring, RTS games that have built the RTS genre itself. Some of the most well known and enjoyed games they've made are: Age of Empires 2: Age of Kings, Age of Mythology, Age of Empires 3, and hopefully, the upcoming ''Halo Wars'' game for the Xbox 360.CLICKY

Some Facts about Ensemble Studios:

-The Age of Empires series has sold 20 Million Copies.

-The company was formed by a small group of people in Texas.

-The first AOE game was well known to have mixed opinions causing it to recieve low sales when first released.

R.I.P. Ensemble Studios, the gamemakers that brought me and thousands of others into the RTS genre.

Thoughts on the Fifa 09 Demo

After playing about an hour's worth of the Fifa 09 demo off the PSN Store, I've been a bit disappointed, but at the same time, happy about it. The demo was pretty short but that didn't stop me from getting a taste of what the real game is gonna be like....below is a list of pros and cons for the DEMO version of the game (Note: The demo is not the finished version of the game (obviously) so some of the pros and/or cons may be different for the full game.)

PROS

-Smoother and much more fluent gameplay than Fifa 08

-Computer Player AI still has probs, but it's still much better than last year's

-Very short Loadng times

-The animations have been improved GREATLY

-Graphics look superb

CONS

-At times, the animations take a few seconds to catch up (so there are slight delays when doing simple stuff like shooting and passing)

-Opponent AI can seem a bit cheap (although it might be just me)

-(DEMO-OnLY problem) Very Limited in options/features

-The game can feel a little boring at times and even repetitive (Pass til' your near the opponents net, shoot, rinse and repeat)

-Maybe it's just me but Fifa 09 seems to have a slower sprint speed then in 08

Eternal Sonata coming to the PS3

Unite PS3 JRPG fans! On October 21 (wow, ANOTHER game coming out on oct. 21...isn't this the sixth?), an enhanced version of Eternal Sonata will be coming out, that will include ''new characters, extra cutscenes, new outfits, etc.'' says Kotaku. So much for it being an Xbox 360 exclusive XD.
