I've played a good 15 hours of this game since my brothers turned me onto it and I keep coming back. I have not dabbled in any survival games but this is definitely more of first person battler where you can opt to build stuff if it suits your strategy. Fights are incredibly intense and slaying opponents/surviving a melee by the skin of your teeth/unlocking a chest containing a gun all provide super satisfying highs. For $15 this has been a steal. If the premise seems fun and/or interesting to you and you are willing to put the time into practicing the core combat, this is can be a super fun game.
@mustachio - Agree with everything you said. @giraffesaredope - Agree with you as well but I can understand why he was put off. There isn't a ton of explanation built in this game at the moment and I don't think I would have thought much of it if so much of the game wasn't explained to me by people who already put several hours in.
