The space one is called Space Engineers.

Civ would work too, I loved Civ 2 at that age. Or something similar but with a little more flavour like Endless Legend. on 3DS maybe something like Rune Factory 4 (or the loosely similar Factory Life) - a charming mix of farming/life sim/strategy game and vaguely zelda-ish Action RPG. Or Harvest Moon which is the exact same game as Rune Factory without the RPG element.

I kind of half want to say something crazy and suggest Europa Universalis IV actually, but that would seem extremely boring and densely complicated to the majority of kids. But man that (and CKII, which is much worse at teaching new players how to play I would suggest) are the ultimate games for a history fan and have so much freedom. I would have been into them at that age and had similar interests to your kid. That's the stupid wildcard suggestion though.

Of the three 360s I have owned, the only one still working is the second hand one I bought six years ago. The others were bought new and RROD'd within a few years.

Just watch the show, they trim the fat of the books nicely. GRRM tells a great story but isn't such a great writer, I actually find his writing style annoying and dull at the same time.

My mum has one, perfect for people who just want to browse, write or work on some documents and occasionally watch some streaming video or listen to spotify. That's pretty much all you can do with them but they're excellent at it - the one my mum has has one of the best keyboards I have seen on a laptop. Does a lot of the work of a tablet at a lower price and with a proper keyboard.

Very nice lean and focused OS too.

The problem is you went on a gamefaqs board, come on duder! That was socially unacceptable 15 years ago.

Taco Bell thankfully doesn't even exist in my country - probably due to food safety laws. I presume all these meats have a different meaning at Taco Bell than in an actual butcher?

Disclaimer: I live in Scotland, not London at all, but I have friends there who aren't exactly making huge bank. I'd imagine that would be doable if you're flatsharing, although I'd be tempted to try to negoatiate towards the higher end of that on the reasonable grounds that you're resettling from the other side of the world. One thing to consider is that in London the temptation to live quite far out of the city can be a false economy as the travelling costs wipe out the savings.

They've said they aren't actively working on mod support, but that there's nothing per se stopping people modding it. It's 2 guys putting out a game on multiple platforms so I can understand that they aren't developing modding tools etc.
