I don't even hate it; I just don't think it could be much more disappointing without being aggressively bad. My ★½… https://t.co/Gj5vcEpUsb

I both suck at and love Capcom fighting games.

I love Capcom's fighting games.  But I already said that in the title.

I suck at Capcom's fighting games.  But, again: said it in the title.

However, I think it speaks volumes about the quality of said games that I have a great time needing to play my best (which obviously isn't very good) to beat the CPU on normal difficulty and get my ass handed to me if I make the mistake of playing online.  How many games is that true for?

MvC2, Marvel Super Heroes Vs. Street Fighter, Street Fighter IV, and the various incarnations of Street Fighter II are some of the most fun I have with video games.   The Marvel crossover games are just so over-the-top and ridiculously fun.

That's all.  Not the most incisive blog, but I think it's really rare that a company can make games that appeal so broadly all the way from pro-level players to schmucks like me that have a hard time doing dragon punches on cue.

Edit: to open it up to discussion, I feel like asking if there are any games anybody else in the community can think of where they can barely handle the A.I. on lower difficulties and get wrecked online, but still have a great time.  So chime in!

I can stand pretty decent on 3rd Strike and Super IV but I am a weak punk in others.

I always always have fun in MvC2 even though I just get dominated online. That's why I tend to stick to local play. Also big fan of SSFII, even though I can't play it to save my life. SSFIV is also awesome, and I think the new characters (especially Juri) is very helpful to get into the game with a fresh perspective.

I suck at fighting games too man. I can't even beat my friends haha. I love the way SF4 and MvC3 look now. I usually end up playing against easy AI haha.

I think your situation describes a lot of people's relation with fighting games in general.

Capcom takes the cake for fighting games that I like but am horrible at. The art style in their games are great. Marvel vs Capcom 2 is a ton of fun when you play against a friend, especially if both of you have no idea what you're doing. I'm really excited for MvC3 even though I already know I'll be complete garbage at it. SF2, Alpha 3, and TvC are awesome too, great looking games. I really enjoy watching high level tournament play of all their games. Capcom is the best.

Never compare CPU to real people. It doesn't matter how much you get your ass kicked by the CPU. They play absolutely nothing like a real person.
