Industrial pipe-clanging and urgent synths round out stealthy
The characters and settings may come and go, but the sonic landscape ties them all together.
Ditto.
Even the combat music is low-key; but deeply evocative and subtle tracks kept my multiple-hundred hour travels through Vvardenfell from becoming overwhelming.
Half of it isn't even "music", but always relentless with infrequent breaks. A step up from SH1.
Masterful. "The Shootist" still makes me want to kick down doors and take names.
Epic.
An almost Eastern European overtone paints vivid landscapes.
I may have a love/hate relationship with Fable, but Albion is always fantastically evocative.
Music to burn the soul by.
An eclectic mix of themes convincingly delivers a variety of settings.
Light ambient complements a warm art style.
Rousing themes capture each empire's character.
Dracula's a little bit rock and roll.
Like Morrowind, low-key and grand. The contemplative tone brings the wasteland into sharper focus.
Has become the universal game theme song.
Less is more.

As tragic and majestic as the set pieces.
Flying O's are in the house. Bring it home, Mojo King Bee.
Nails the scale of the story. "Vigil" was the perfect backdrop to one of the most memorable game plot revels in recent years.
More song curation than custom soundtrack, but excellent song selection amplifies Braid's melancholic mood.
Modern meets classic to sometimes breathtaking effect.
Perhaps cheating (see Braid).. but good song selection makes the experience memorable.
Match-3 to a snappy backdrop.
Whistle any of these memorable themes in a crowded room and someone will call them out.
