The mainstream population will adopt the hell out of VR once good porn gets onto it and someone makes a vibrating USB fleshlight. (that probably exists already, but what a great combo!)

Kinect Adventures QL was one of my favorite moments of Ryan.

I live in a one room apartment with my wife. She watches TV, I don't watch TV at all. I play my xbox with headphones on at my desk on a monitor. I am really curious if I will even be able to use the Xbox One at my desk due to the Kinect features. So many questions. Am I going to have to use voice commands only or will I be able to navigate the menus with a controller? What about a headset for the system for chat in multiplayer games or is the kinect your mic now? Will Kinect even work right with me sitting in a chair at a desk less than two feet away from it?

I realize my situation is pretty unique, but it's the only way I can game. If I had to use the TV to game, I'd get to game maybe an hour a week. I hope there is a lot more information soon.

@crusader8463: I worked in a call center for 7 years. Worked for many accounts, Dell, Charter Cable, Mediacomm cable, and others. The tech support side was bad, but the cable tv support side was the worst. It was a traumatic experience. I know what you mean about wanting to drive off the road. The customers are horrible and the management are like slave drivers. We weren't even allowed 10 seconds in between calls to sip some water. And sometimes my wife will suggest I get a job at another cable company call center and I tell her she's out of her fucking mind. She seems to think she could handle the endless circular arguments, belittling, and threats call after call. I told her she should take the job then. Fuck call centers.

I think it's total bullshit that this news reporter basically helped get the guy fired. Just doing her job, yeah, but still.

I had no hopes for this game at all. Seeing the 'fan-made' trailer and this trailer and launch date justifies my cynicism.

These are some cards I worked into our games after we'd played through it a couple times and the initial shock factor was gone. Finally got the expansions today. I think one of my favorite cards from the original game is "Maybe she's born with it, maybe it's (an asymmetric boob job)" So that's where I went with my black cards. The white card ideas didn't have anything to do with those questions.

Black cards:

Choosy moms choose _______ .

________, it does a body good.

White cards:

Sleeping in the wet spot

Stabbing an owl in the face with a wooden spoon

When Doom came out and I was playing tons of Doom and making my own levels for it, I was dreaming I was in it a lot. I think it was just because I was always either playing the game or designing levels for it and even when I was at work I was drawing map designs on any paper I could find. I'd have some really weird dreams about flying through the levels and stuff.

The only time I seem to dream about games now is if I am really tired and I force myself to stay up too long playing either Battlefield or Left 4 Dead. I'll end up seeing nothing but muzzle flashes in my sleep after playing BF3 or I'll have zombie apocalypse dreams after playing zombie games.

It may seem like a generic answer, but Aeris from FF7. I honestly don't remember caring that much about any character before then. Somehow there seemed to be a lot more emotional attachment in that game. I remember my sister watched me play FF7 almost every night and she was crying when Aeris died. Maybe I cried a little too. =)

Thanks everyone. I wasn't sure if it was some character I didn't play much or if it was Marco. Every frame of animation is dead on though. I asked them on twitter why they're using metal slug sprites and claiming copyright and they tell me they aren't claiming it but that they had someone else make the artwork and that person has the copyright. I can totally understand using some game assets as filler just to test things. I do that in Unity all the time. It's just insane to me that people would actually lift assets like this from a pretty well known series and use them in their game.

I've played all the Metal Slug games over the years but I'm having a hard time remembering which one these images are from. I've tried image searching, but there are literally 6 billion Metal Slug images online to sift through.

And for what's going on: Cartoonsmart.com is a cool site that sells video tutorials for Flash and iOS, etc and sometimes they partner with people and sell someone else's tutorials on their site. Today I got an email about this new starter kit they were selling for iOS. I didn't see the sprites until part of the video shows the full sprite sheet and I was like wait... that's Metal Slug. I figured whoever made the starter kit just threw those in for teaching purposes. They still shouldn't be selling them included in a starter kit though... but then I decided to look up Commander Cool on the App store and sure enough the game features a lot of sprites lifted directly from Metal Slug series.

You can see the sprites I'm trying to figure out here:

http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/commander-cool-lite/id505849657?mt=8

I wanted to know what specific game so I can email the Cartoon Smart guy and let him know he might want to not do business with these guys as he is in effect re-selling copyright infringing material.

The guys that made the game over at http://commander-cool.com/ios-2d-platformer-starter-kit.html have this to say on their Starter Kit page

Disclaimer
You are free to use all source code contained in the ‘CommanderCool‘ folder for your own private and/or commercial use, however, artwork, music tracks, fonts and sound effects included in this package will remain the copyright Janzen & Strauß.

At least one of the people that rated the game on the App Store called them out.
