So to sum up: This whole video was super fun to watch and awesomely infuriatung like always. No problem with the passion about any game, even if it's Dream Daddy. Forza Horizon: Zero Dawn was robbed. Abby should have caught herself repeating herself around the 15th time she said 'I think it's very good, it's fun' and now let's move on to more awesome content in 2018.
well the poor equivalence of Dream Daddy and Nier notwithstanding, and while I don't entirely agree with your point about her deliberation skills and DEFINITELY don't agree with your tone, Abby is:
1) in her first GOTY;
2) in her early 20's;
3) in a room full of people with close to a decade or more of experience in the industry, with the exception of Ben, who still has more experience in the industry than her, more experience with that group than her, and more experience podcasting than her.
...so, let's maybe, try to rephrase our critique a little to sound a little more constructive and a little less like an out-and-out tear down, especially when you're being kind of across-the-board unfair.
So would you agree it is basically Vinny and Jeff's fault for hoisting her up on center stage instead of easing her in, or maybe sit this one out, when she is not as qualified to judge games and debate them as the others?
I guess I can see how that's true, it didn't do her any favors to have her worst weaknesses exposed so badly by her poor showing in the GOTY's for every GB fan to see. But there's nothing you can do about it because I just think Vinny thinks the world of her, he sees her as a godsend, to the point where he started really liking his job again after the hire. He also doesn't care about these forum comments, as he disregards internet negativity, for it is the world's poison to him.
In fact, it was Ben who was the new hire many people were complaining about in the beginning, including myself. But he has gotten much better since then.
We were all such idiots for not warming up to the greatness that is Ben Pack much quicker, just because of his Andre the Giant voice. All of his work in front of the camera and behind the mic has been pretty stellar. And his positivity wins you over. (And from what I understand it hasn't been the easiest year for old Ben)
