  • GOTY.

  • Completed April 23rd. Simply excellent in every way. Any flaws people present must be argued heavily or are the result of unreasonable or downright irrational expectations.

  • Completed August 20th. A study in how to wield tone and style to remarkable effect. Tells a story in a simple way, but somehow is more nuanced than most anything else out there. There's no part of this game I didn't enjoy. So build that wall and build it strong cause we'll be there before too long.

  • Completed September 16th. Exactly what I wanted from a 40K video game. The third game this year that I finished with no negatives on my mind.

  • Charted November 5th.

  • Completed June 25th. Pros: Rock solid improvements to first game. The traversal element was a joy to play. I found the story to be more enjoyable than expected. Suitably apocalyptic last act.

Cons: Stun animations. Lots of near-instant deaths. Why does everyone have a rocket launcher in this city?

  • Completed July 24th. More Pixeljunk shooter. That's all I wanted from this and I got it. Nice and challenging without controller throwing frustration. Phenomenal music.

  • Completed Jun 5th. Pros: Best story so far this year. Totally successful in creating a Noir video game in tone, art direction, and style. Fascinating new tech in the facial animations.

Netural: Action gameplay is purely functional, not exceptional. Delivered in the right doses.

Cons: The game's formula wears thin by the end. It has a limited number of tricks, but manages to carry through on style and narrative strength.

  • Completed February 6th.

Pros: Numerous Improvements over first game that are well-tread in reviews. Great post-credits stinger dialogue. Stomping.

Cons: Considerable abuse/oversights on the part of EA and Visceral in regards to the PC version. Console DLC suits IN GAME but unavailable outside of hacking save files. Many unlockables are either not functioning or not available to PC players. Busted Multiplayer. No Dragon Age 2 armor for Steam users. No Severed DLC for PC version.

I would have replayed this game, but thanks to all the issues with unlocks and suit, there is literally no point, no reward. The sour taste is too great.

They have since patched some of the above issues, though only partially. And turns out Severed is pretty mediocre.

  • Completed March 26th, whatever that means. Pros: Ridiculously addicting and fun, about 90% of the time. Charming. Fire Pigs. Even better when you have a group of fellow addicts. Good modifications to the established formula. Shocking amounts of depth.

Cons: 10% of the game is infuriating. Absurd encounter rate. Frightening amounts of grinding required to even beat the game, much less play second playthrough content.

  • More Ks than those other fighting games!

  • Completed July 2nd. Delightfully weird with great story, characters, and dialogue. Awful puzzle selection. That's kind of a problem in a puzzle game. Still, I'll keep buying these for a dose of the bizarre.

  • Open Beta week Feb 15th through 22nd and 7 Day free trial 6 months later.

The most proficient WoW clone yet. Many aspects of the game I hesitate to call well designed as the devs simply made it look and feel as much like WoW as possible. World, art style, and character customization, however, are novel and well done. On a second look, the game still can't get over that hump of "similar to that other thing you like." Its missing that spark, that special something. For a game with a thousand mentions of the word 'soul' it is remarkably soulless.

  • Completed (?) October 5th. Replay of feelings over time: This game is pretty cool. I don't like this game. Nah, it's alright. I love this game. Goddamn stop dicking me over so hard. Fuck this game, uninstall and never look back.

  • PS3 Release. Completed July 20th. Somehow a three hour (if that) game managed to wear out its welcome. Yes, the atmosphere is great...until they abandon it in favor of a bland factory setting. Then the game ends and you sigh and say "Yeah I get it. Thanks game." Far from the mind-blowing game some talked it up to be.

  • On backlog.

Pros: Story. Dialogue. Characters. Most of the voice acting. Gay Elves.

Cons: Camera is a crime against PC gamers. Little variety in combat areas. Waves of enemies from nowhere. Inconsistent difficulty. I can't give armor to party members? Really? Really?

This feels like a second tier Bioware game. The rushed dev cycle shows in anything that isn't narrative. And I haven't finished the game's story, which apparently flys right off the rails in Act 3. Great.

  • Incomplete, judgement pending. I wish I had waited for a Steam sale and avoided the fiasco that was the PC version's release.

  • Traded in to Gamestop August 5th.

Everything about this game was enjoyable except the part where it's a game.

  • Unopened, or as unopened as a PC game on your steam list can be. Thanks Skyrim.

  • December 20th
