And what a disgrace it was. I also like how convenient this withdrawal is. I know that the plan from the beginning was to leave yesterday, but this seems way too politically convenient for Obama.

it's not convenient at all; american troops are leaving iraq because the iraqi government decided not to extend u.s. forces blanket immunity to prosecution of their alleged war crimes. the pentagon and the obama administration would make sure to stay in iraq for another 10 years if they could get away with it. of course since obama's a politician he'll be like, "mission accomplished, america's soldiers finally get some richly deserved r&r for a job well done" and of course it's horseshit like everything any politician says.

Obama's already said that and has been saying it for about a month. What annoys me is that the media isn't calling him out for his hypocrisy considering he was trying everything to let US troops stay. And for what? We never prevented or gained anything by invading Iraq.

Iraq's been quiet for the last year, so the focus has shifted to Afghanistan. Until we leave Afghanistan I'm not celebrating.

Civilization 5 took a leap back from Civilization 4. Bad AI, lack of diplomacy, and penalizing the player for actually expanding made it a very dull game. The whole new city-state system was a complete bust considering the player would have to shovel out gold every 5 turns to keep little cities as friends. Also Barbs respawning in the modern world is just dumb.

I like ME1 over ME2 mainly because ME2 didn't have that interesting of a plot, and the combat was good, but was dragged out for too long.

My main reason for not being too interested in Dota 2 is the community. I played Warcraft 3's Battle.net for quite sometime and I watched it evolve as Dota's community grew. First it was humble, but overtime people really started to take it a little too seriously.

They are intuitive though, they made both hosting bots and ban lists, both of which have arguably ruined Warcraft 3's battle.net and its accessibility. Essentially, you'd get banlisted if you left early or someone just didn't like you. People shared banlists (I think there was one large one), and you could find yourself banned from several games for one little offense. If you wanted to appeal the charge, you had to go on a forum outside of Battle.net and ask. You'd also get kicked for high ping, and you can't download the map from the host of the game. If you even try downloading the map you'll get auto-kicked before your computer even loads the gameroom.

I've already said much and we've not even got into the game itself! If you're a novice enjoy getting berated for the next thirty minutes to an hour. The first time you die you'll get the label of "noob feeder". If you don't give your gold to XXSSJfamxXX who's a self acclaimed pro you'll get to hear him talk about how he lost due to a "noob team".

My grandfather just got out of Army service before Pearl Harbor, and then was immediately called back in. He served in the Pacific campaign. Never talked much about it, the only story I ever heard him tell was being volunteered to retrieve American dead while under fire. After we died we got a DVD from the Smithsonian, seems they sent people out to interview veterans and we had no idea he partcipated. Besides being a rifleman, he served as a machine gunner on Okinawa. Also brought home a Nambu pistol and Katana. Very gentle guy, but tough.

My other granddad served in the Navy and spent the war in Brazil. After the war he still got letters from Brazilian women. A frequent smoker with asthma, he died before I was born.

I've been using the same PC for about 5 years. The only thing I've upgraded is the graphics card (Nvidia 240 GTS) and only 2 gigs of Ram. Using a shitty Pentium D processor and I can play any Total War game, Portal 2 on max settings, and Deus Ex HR on max. I consider the last two a miracle, but it wouldn't bother me in the least to be playing any game on Low settings.

I read the memoir of an American flying ace in WW2, Gregory Boyington, and he told a story where he ended up crash landing in Rural China. He spent most of the night suffering from his wounds and watching Chinese peasants passing by and ignoring him. He was eventually helped out, but very annoyed that the people who were 'allies' didn't help at all. He later found out it was an old tradition: you help out a stranger, and you have to take care of them for as long as they live.

I doubt it explains the incident, but it is certainly insightful. Some news articles point out cases in China where people did help out and were usually blamed by witnesses for causing the accident. Not sure if its true or not.

Also, something a little similar happened in my own city, New York.

Well, Wozniak did alot for Apple, like designing and making their first computers. Jobs was really just a businessman. He did make Pixar studios, I will give him that.

None of this comes as a surprise. All Apple ever had was a good ad campaign. I remember people soiling themselves back in 2006, waiting for Apple to talk about a video IPod. If they looked on the market they'd see that it's been done, but no that doesn't matter because APPLE hasn't graced us with it yet. Horse shit. People are such drones when it comes to apple products. Frankly, I've never seen such a product go through so many iterations in such a short amount of time, each with such minuscule differences.

As for all this people exploitation: welcome to capitalism; it is about the quick and easy buck. You don't like it? Tough, cause there's no way around it. Why is the US of A involved in the Mideast to everyone's disdain? Oil, it makes the world go round. This is no different.
