@dryker: Yikes, man. I'm not trying to be mean but don't sit there thinking this is just NewRetroArcade and because "you've downloaded other stuff" and "X [crappy] anti-virus said I was clean" that you're clean. Your behavior when trying to acquire this software, and ROMs, and your response to the resulting situation indicates to me that you're likely loaded with malware, and probably always have been.

Do yourself a favor, back up your stuff and do a fresh install of windows. Then purchase a MalwareBytes subscription and NEVER download stuff again without absolutely trusting the source (and if you're ever using a site that makes it confusing which download link might be the real one, never use that site again - extremely common malware tactic that is prevalent on almost all free download sites these days). I wouldn't recommend you download anything, actually, that's not through a user-friendly GUI like Steam or whatever.

You're one of those users that knows just enough to be extremely dangerous to themselves but can't perceive that danger. I'm sorry to put it harshly but you need it.

...along with what others have said, also tell him that using the word "gay" to describe something in a negative way is bullshit, immature, and extremely offensive. Sounds like that guy has some issues.

Yeah, because we don't want to be using such offensive terms, when gaming with our friends!

You wouldn't be fun at parties. Especially gay parties.

This game is absolutely worth playing. For $60? Nah, most people won't feel satisfied with the value there. But it's definitely worth $40, IMO. I was lucky enough to get it on launch day and immediately signed up for an amazon trade in for $40 back, so I played it at launch for $20 (took me almost 12 hours, but I played on hard, purposely replayed sequences I liked, and really took in the fantastic atmosphere and took my time to read and listen and enjoy). I found the story really surprisingly good! It has some really neat twists and integrates a lot of folklore in very neat ways. Honestly, I'm pretty hard to impress these days. I feel like Jeff more often than not, but this game is not getting the proper praise it deserves, with the caveat of value per hour of playtime being low if that bothers you.

@mister_v: did you miss the news about French authorities arresting 54+ people after the Charlie Hebdo incident for "hate speech", such as extremely innocuous jokes on twitter and such? 7 year potential prison sentence for saying something NOT EVEN REMOTELY HATEFUL OR VIOLENT on twitter. That's Fascism, my friend.

YOU GO, AUSTRALIA! It seems, IMO, that France and Australia are now officially in the competition with us peeps in the USA for most fascist "western" government! CONGRATS!

I know everyone's heard about the game itself, but FAR too little attention was paid by GB in general to HOW FREAKING AWESOME Far Cry 4's co-op is. If you've ever liked FPS's, open world games, and/or coop, you should REALLY give it a try with a good friend and a headset. I haven't had so much stupid fun in years. I nearly piss my pants at some awesome/funny/ridiculous thing every time I play it with someone. I've never, ever had so much multiplayer fun, even if it was only with 1 other player.

Wow, surprising news. I'm very sorry to hear you're leaving, Patrick. Hopefully we'll know more about why you're leaving when we find out what your next gig is?

Spookin' with scoops is great, and so are many of your editorials. You have a refreshing enthusiasm to try new things, and take risks.

I'm very sorry to hear about your father, I didn't really know the reason you moved back to your home state until recently.

Peace, my friend. See you on GB or elsewhere soon, hopefully!

@skullpanda1: Good news, they're back up on Steam. Scoops' article was speculation, and requires an edit IMO!

Well that was a underwhelming opening.

First off the episode felt extremely disjointed, they were trying to squeeze in way too much information into one episode. This felt incredibly rushed, with zero impact. The worst thing being the information they were trying to cram into this episode was worthless in context of the show ( Not the books). Since last season's closing, and this opening we haven't moved an inch. They talk about initiating political plans in terms of the war/wars for 95% of the episode, and can't even be bothered for a decent build up to the closing scene? That scene was plugged in like a forgotten piece to a jigsaw puzzle, and it ruined the possibility of any emotional or dramatic impact.

This isn't a great start as far as season openers go, i'm getting a Walking Dead budget cut vibe form this episode. Oh shit we got no money, make them talk in circles that costs less! Even though i know that's completely untrue, its the feeling i get.

Maybe I've been spoiled by the Soap Opera nature of Spartacus, with constant fights, plots or sex taking place at every turn on every scene.

The fact that you reference Spartacus as an example of better show-making completely invalidates your point! Keep in mind I'm a spartacus fan but it doesn't even compare to GoT so far...
