The VGM Spotlight - Volume #5

Is Disgaeamad Gonna Have to Make You Listen to Some Music?

So apparently I was drunk enough to forget that this even existed. Time to start it back up, I guess!

Track #5 - Influence of Truth Appearance

Game: Star Ocean: Till the End of Time
Composer: Motoi Sakuraba

One of my favourite tracks from Sakuraba, mainly because he deviates from the usual rock-esque themes and goes for an effect which is similar to his early works, and he does it well! This song plays later on in the game, just around the time when the PLOT TWEEEEEEST happens. Say what you want about the story, but I found SO3 to be rather enjoyable, with an interesting, yet somewhat clunky, battle system and a lot of neat ideas (I'll admit to being addicted to the item creation competition).

Look forward to the next trBZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

How are the SO games? I've been thinking about playing through them all, especially since i wanna check out SO4.

As for the track, it's got a fair bit of ups and downs and is a pretty nice orchestral piece.

I really digged Star Ocean 2 and 3. I picked up SO4 for PS3 a few months back, but haven't gotten into it much with my backlog being what it is, but so far I don't like it as much. The battle system is pretty sweet, though, which is a guarantee for all the Star Ocean games. Even in their most tedious parts, battles are super fun.

@L33tfella_H: Well, I still haven't played SO2, but I enjoyed the rest of them. The first game is easily my favourite, and like I said, 3 had a lot of interesting ideas.

@ATrevelan: Yeah, I fellt as though 4 was a step back in terms of the cool ideas they had in 3, but the battle system was polished up incredibly well.
