I'm downloading the demo now after seeing the quicklook. The cross of DOTA with TF2 looks really interesting to me. I have something like 230+ hours on TF2, with 50+ as medic, so I will most likely play support. The turret hacking seems cool, I usually like to play defensively anyway.

I doubt it will have the playerbase of MW2 or other big name titles, but as long as there's enough people to get at least one game going, what's it matter? I can get into a BF1943 game in 10-15 seconds. If you can still find Doom/Doom 2 multiplayer matches...

Maybe, but personally, I would rather have it turn out like what I've played of the beta rather than MW3. "
Pretty much. I don't think taking the talent at Respawn and putting them to work on a MoH remake would have been smart at all. Think about it, these are (mostly) the same guys who did MW1, which pretty much changed the face of FPS multiplayer since 2007. EVERYBODY is doing perks/killstreaks now, and that isn't really a bad thing. I will definitely be checking out whatever it is they are making, as long as it isn't space related and Halo-y. I prefer the "feel" of shooting actual guns that use bullets, not plasma or what have you.

Some serious angst up in this thread.

I still put a couple hours a week into MW2 these days, and really don't have any problems with painkiller/OMA/commando. Protip: if there is a guy using OMA tubing the same doorway, perhaps you shouldn't continue trying to push that way and attempt to flank. Protip: if you are dominating the same guy 4+ times because he keeps coming back for the revenge kill, you should probably find a new spot because he will eventually overtake you with painkiller. Yes, I still get screwed out of kills by commando once or twice a round, but it isn't the game breaker everyone makes it out to be. If you are a decent shot and aren't turning a blind corner, they shouldn't hit you with a lunge.

If you enjoy MW1 better, by all means, go back and continue playing it, because it is immensely irritating seeing forum posts/comments on every single topic/news article related to MW2 to the extent of "People still play this? LOL"  It still averages 500,000 players at primetime on Xbox Live. I don't think that's a fluke. It has it's share of weak spots, but to say MW1 is the superior game is laughable to me, and mostly just the rose-tinted glasses people love to wear these days. The guy complaining about martyrdom and copycat (lol) was pretty ironic considering martyrdom was a flat out normal perk in Mw1. I've died no more than 10 times to it in MW2.

yeah i just fucking got it and it froze on me...    this is fucking wierd as shit though.   there is no way the actual game will play/feel the same as this does. this really does feel almost exactly like bad company 2. this is fucking stupid as hell "

The games like what, 4 months out? I have no game developing experience, but I'm going to say they have very little time left, if any, to make any major changes. Probably only patches to put bandaids on any hitches/bugs that come up in this beta.

I've been watching some live streams + the QL posted today, and I have to say it looks very mediocre. It's like they went for the MW2 clone (who isn't these days) but forgot to add the special touches that made MW1/MW2 the games they are. Yo DICE, if I want to play Rush mode, I will put in my (dusty) copy of BC2. I realize there's just 2 maps in this beta, but if they are all sand (even MW2 shipped with a few different art styles in the multiplayer maps), no thanks.

Not to derail, but I never understood the massive jumpship mentality of those who detest MW2 that has popped up in this thread a bit. I have about ~15 days logged on both games, and I haven't felt any urges to go back to playing MW1. What is it everyone hates so much exactly? I never really see anyone making their case. I'll agree, air support can get out of control at times, but once I switch to my class with the stinger, I take shit out in 5 seconds flat. Maps too expensive? They're optional. I bought the first one, and have no plans of getting the most recent one. I guess it just bugs me when everyone got this mob mentality of "Y-yeah! Fuck MW2! It sucks!" when it's essentially still the exact same game at its core, barring some new perks/customizable killstreaks.

This doesn't look appealing to me at all. Some of the Wii stuff has looked interesting over the past several years, but it all still feels like a novelty at this point. Maybe with the next generation of consoles they can really take motion gaming to the next level? Until it reaches the fidelity and responsiveness of using the actual controller, I have no interest at all.

Fitness games seem like a good way to get young kids/older folks into the habit of leading healthy lifestyles, but that's about it. When I want to exercise, I will lift weights and jog/use a treadmill like a normal person. Running in place and flapping your arms in front of your TV is just half-assing it.

This has to be one of the cheesier promotional videos I've seen in awhile.

Granted, I've had my 20gb 360 for almost 3 years now, but it still stings when I think about the $80 I spent for the WiFi adapter that should been standard the first place. They can fuck off if they think I'm going to drop another $300 for the system that it should have launched as.
