These are not concepts, they are point hoggers. They make much more sense and is much more useful if more specific in nature. IMO they should all be purged.

And to reply to brukaoru, the thing is just like a concept can be so narrow and minor that it fails notability standard and thus should not be included, a concept can be too wide and general to be included. A concept like "graphics" would not benefit anyone cause I'm not sure there's a game out there without and graphical representation. And thus it's useless. And to say that the site should have "all" concepts is not a wise stance either. For example, using the basic color scheme for most monitors, there are about 16.8 million different possible displayable colors. Should we perhaps enter every color into the database and then enter every game that uses that exact color in its presentation of the game? I mean, if we're gonna have all possible concepts... Sure, I know that they are extreme examples, but if I mention them now, someone else will later and that someone might actually start adding them.

I'd say that both those things are just your basic boost, the only difference is in how you are awarded said boost. The point of a boost is to give you a push forward, how you go about getting said boost is secondary.

Why not just have it be "Boost mechanic"? Cause that's what it is, a game mechanic that gives you a sudden, and limited, increase in speed.

Seems like FFIV is one of those annoying fringe games. Probably need to play it myself first and seeing as I don't have a DS and DS emulation sucks big time that won't happen anytime soon.

How about the layout of levels for those who has played FFIV games. Are they identical (like a left turn in the SNES game is a left turn in the DS game)? And are the game mechanics exactly identical (ignoring perhaps things like small adjustments in damage calculations and such)? Are there no new areas of the game and does everything play out the same way in both games (meaning is the storyline the same, dialogue and plot is not relevant for this)? If the answer to all those things are yes then I have to reconsider my stance on this.

I previously posed a question what should be taken into account when judging if a game is the same or different. I don't think I really got an answer for that but my stance is that these things are the important ones: Game mechanics, in-game level layout/design and storyline. If ALL those are the virtually the same (NOT only similar), then two games should be considered the same game in my opinion. I only mentioned graphics, code and features cause some may think that these are important at times and I wanted to see what others thought. Can people get behind this?

Actually, while that link might not work anymore, you can still search for him and find him that way.

I mean, I think it's a great initiative... Conceptually really great, the site needs it... It's just... Well... Trying to argue the point that spelling is important when it says "caracter" right there in the topic name... Well, it's kinda ironic to say the least... ;)

Desert I did say was the same. Space I had an argument for a bit up. I won't repost it again so just look north. Personally, at the moment, I'd suggest changing "location" into "setting". That would fit both.
