I completely agree. Highly recommended. Fired up FTL:AE after watching the QL yesterday and didn't find it too different. Once I installed the Captain's Edition, I played for 6 hours straight (I don't know if that's a good thing...)!

There's even an 'Infinite' option for it, which gives you the option at the end of every sector, to either jump 'closer' to the Federation ships for 10 Fuel, or continue to roam around deep space (same sector) for 1 Fuel. Of course, everything is scaled up to balance this out :)

@rorie: Why not just use a site ripper and save a personal copy of the site layout for yourself?

I recommend the completely free HTTrack Website Copier

Switched to a PS4 controller and have been happily using that for a few months.

For anyone interested, the DS4 Driver is here

Lets you use the DS4 touchpad as a mouse, so you can control some of those Steam partial controller support games from a sofa without needing a wireless mouse, so an added bonus.

However, I never seemed to naturally memorise the layout of the Xbox 360 buttons (ABXY and their colours/locations) so I still have to keep a little post it note on my monitor to help when playing games that have onscreen prompts. Too many years only playing SNES games and Playstation games I guess.

@devil240z: PS3. I also have 0 problems with multiple audio outputs, except for this game specifically. Every other PS3 game goes to my optical out, no probs.

Played the first level and it's great, but I've been playing in silence.

Looks like the game refuses to output audio to optical out, only to HDMI, which is annoying as my HDMI cable goes into a speakerless projector. Exit the game - audio goes to separate speakers as intended. Play different game - audio working fine. Ah well, I'll just make the shooty-bang-bang noises with my mouth as I play...

Anything and everything from the Funniest Quick Looks list. It's about 8 months out of date but it covers everything before June 2013 really well.

Absolutely. PS3 version for me. Currently playing through EDF 2017 Vita ediition as that is super fun but I think I might stop once 2025 comes out because it looks way slicker whilst still being a bit quirky.

Now's actually a good time for games for me as I love the non AAA titles that come out around this time, like Dynasty Warriors 8 Xtreme Legends: Complete Edition: Electric Boogaloo etc.

I'm hoping for a Vita port of this at some point as well. There's only so long I can spend grinding these levels on Inferno for drops in front of my TV. Would be nice to have another bathroom game to fill the time :)

I second this sentiment.

In other news, I need to sit my ass down and finish Last of Us.

Me too. When everyone keeps saying "that ending" when referring to the Last of Us, I have a strong feeling it will be spoiled for me by the end of the week. I'm currently on hard mode at the high school just before entering what looks like the gym. I got that far on release week, and haven't played for 6 months. Not sure why I stopped, but I'm debating dropping the difficulty to get through the game. I played on hard because Patrick and others said it was too easy on the lower difficulties, and you didn't have to ration as much.

For anyone who hasn't played Brothers, that will get spoiled no doubt. Just go play it! It's only about 3 hours of time (as long as you don't sit on benches).

Give Space Pirates and Zombies a try. It's if Freelancer was made a top down game (in terms of play style) except not any trading. Lasers! Randomly generated galaxies! Hundreds of weapon upgrades! Multiple ships to control! Lasers! Lasers!

Not anywhere as tactical as FTL as it's real-time, but lots of cool ship designs. I think I paid around £3 or $3 for it during a Steam sale and put over 50 hours into it. And you can switch on the damage numbers so they fly off every enemy as you shoot them in a satisfying way.
