It doesn't seem like the Giant Bomb staff is all that interested in making their "game of the year" lists easy to browse. Aside from Jeff, if you want to see what was on their list, you have to scrub through one of the GOTY videos. That's for 2012. Older features can be harder to find and browse. The staff is always super busy, though, so it's quite understandable that they don't want to spend their time wading through old content.
Still, when a game like Binary Domain goes on sale, it can be difficult to remember what the staff thought of it. Having an easy and standardized GOTY mechanism would be much simpler than going to old videos.
There is another way. I propose we put all these lists into Giant Bomb site lists. You know, lists like LEGO!
I have made a list to demonstrate this perfect vision. GB GOTY 2012 - Vinny Caravella
It is my hope that if the quality on these lists is high enough, we can persuade one of the site designers to import them into one "giantbomb-GOTY" user account or something, for easier viewing.
I don't think it's worth making lists for the 22 guests they had for text-based top 10 lists, or even the non-ranked "bests" of the year. Just site staff and the overall site top 10s.
Is this a good idea?
