I love hear stories related to gaming. I'll start.
My first story was when I was about 15 or something and I went over to my buddie's house to stay overnight. He had King's Quest #? I forget which one. Anyhow, I saw the PC box and I was like.... this game looks cool. He says "Yeah but I have been stuck for weeks". "Oh the days before an organized internet". Anyhow, so I am like.. mind if I mess around. He nods. I pop it in and load his last save. I start trying to click on everything and he is behind me saying, "nope, nope, I tried that" - Not trying to be an ass just more matter of factly... I continue this for about 2 hours. A few minutes in he is sitting on a couch nearby and watching TV. He is occasionly glancing at what I am doing. Finally I click on this bundle of hay and there starts a cheery tune along the lines of "We are the maching ants". He LEAPS off the couch and was like... what the hell did you do? I never heard that before!!!!
So the ant spoke to me or something and with what it said he is like "OMG ok I so know what to do now, ok move!" I was like.. fuck you! I just spent 3 hours clicking on every damn thing. We both bursted out laughing. He is like. ok fine I'll tell you my ideas and you play the game. We continued late into the night and beat the game. We still laugh about how he told me to move after I did all the hard work.

Second story, my 10th , 11th or 12th birthday... around that time... I see the gifts on my kitchen table and boy oh boy one of those sure look like a new Nintendo game. I unwrap it with immense expectations and it's!!! ....Black...Bass.... *fake smile* Thanks Mom! I think back about it now and my mom probably just saw that game on sale for 2 bucks or something at the grocery store and got it for me. Nothing funnier than that. There heart is in the right place but they just have no idea about what is a good game or not lol. I am sure many have a similar experience during their youth.

Third story, in grade 5 I find out this nerdy kid has a super nintendo. I had no console of that generation at that time. I befriended him all of a sudden and ohhh hey you have a SNES? Well jeeze I never knew that! Hey maybe I can hang out with you at your place after school? lol This went on for like a week and suddenly some guy is like. "You know he is just using you for your SNES Al?" Al looks at me and was like... is this true. I swear I answered "No, now let's go play SNES". He was like.. ok. LOL I think he was just happy to have a friend. Even if it was because of his SNES.
Anyhow, share you stories! I love hearing about em :)
