My most used characters in various fighting game series'. Grouped according to game, and in order of preference within those sections. Looking at this list, I feel that it's pretty obvious that I tend to favor "Ryu-style" characters, with their fireball and upward-moving attacks. (COMMENTARY to follow as time allows.)

I like Ryu about as much, but prefer the way that Ken lunges forward more with his dragon punch.
Mostly the same as Ken, but with several small differences here and there. I probably like his character a little more, but as I mentioned above, Ken is more my play-style.
My favorite of the three characters featured in the original Final Fight, Guy is quick and has a wide range of moves, many of which are "lunging" attacks. Interestingly enough he lacks a fireball move, which is a little refreshing, though he did have one in Final Fight 3.
The combination of low and high fireballs, plus the tiger uppercut make for a good mix. Plus Sagat is rather tall, and that's a nice change of pace.
King of Fighters franchise. Picks below:
I really like Terry's move set quite a bit, and the voice acting is cheesy, but in that good kind of way. POWER WAVE!!
Her rising uppercut is nice, and the fireball as well, but I like projectile reflect move that she has. Very sneaky!
Note: I can't stand to play as her in the newer games (12 & 13), because she looks like an idiot in them. (HUGE forehead, stupid hair, and massive eyes.)

The typical Japanese ronin. In other words "badass".
Crazy loon... I can't help but be attracted to her dual-personalities and fighting styles.
