Amnesia: The Dark Descent. I really want to keep playing that game, but my sanity won't let me.

I don't know, there's just something I like about owning the actual stuff. I'm the same with movies, I just buy the blu-rays instead of using Netflix.
I actually spend more than that on anime, but I spread out the purchases throughout the year. That way, I won't feel like I'm throwing my hard-earned moneys away.
I really liked Star Ocean: The Last Hope. There are some annoying characters and creepy-looking facial expressions in it though. Since you've played Tales of Vesperia, you might find the battle system in SO to be slightly easier. If presentation is a big issue for you, I suggest watching videos of the game first.
I was just playing the demo a few minutes ago and yeah, the controls do take some time to get used to. I kept trying to push the left stick in to crouch, but in this game, it's the reload button. It's not really a big deal. But one thing does annoy me: the enemies keep saying the same damn lines over and over again. It really makes me want to kill them faster.
