@UssjTrunks: i assume your forgetting about Jeff and his opinion of the game?

Look at Jeff's opinion on pretty much any MMO and you'll see why "forgot" it.

@Selona83: Oh, nah, you're fine. This week's episode was just fucking determined not to happen. But alas, our fearless leader has prevailed and brought forth the insanity that is episode 17!

Since you guys had some trouble with this weeks episode, will it be up on the RSS feed this week at all:)?

Just wondering if I should keep an eye on it or not:)

Thanks!

PS: yay! Launch week!

We re-recorded last night, so it might be up some time today, depending when gets done editing.

@Selona83: As pointed out, we rerecorded it last night, and is hard at work on editing. We ran into another snag last night with the recording, so editing is taking longer than possible but it'll absolutely be up on the RSS. May not be today, though. Just depends on how the editing goes.

Goddamn. 7 hours total to edit and get this thing up. I hate mumble, I hate it so fucking much.

It's 3:44am - I AM GOING TO BED.

Well that went up much quicker than I thought! But yeah, with what you told me, I agree. Fuck Mumble. Podcasting software my ass!

I find the level of raw enthusiasm for GW2 honestly baffling, it looks decent but I don't see how it's the Second Coming or anything. There are some high expectations for what this is going to be, and I haven't a clue how the game can live up to all that (haven't played the betas yet, I'm just skeptical).

I might buy it if it lives up to the hype a couple weeks down the road, not sure yet. GW1 wasn't my thing.

Same. It's not even really an MMO in that it doesn't really offer anything to suggest it's a second universe you can fully live in and immerse yourself in. There's no player-driven economy, there's no housing system, there's no politics, no full-on armor customization. Really I just don't see what separates it from like, say, Dragon Age Origins with multiplayer. The lack of subscription fee is the only thing that's unique to me.

I....what? Ok, first off, there is a player-driven economy (Trading Post) that is supplemented by the gem store (microtransactions), WoW has no housing system, WoW has no politics, and GW2 has probably the most armor customization of all current MMO's to date. Not only can you customize up to 3 different colors per piece (weapons excluded), but you can also change the visual appearance (a la WoW's transmogrification system) of every piece of gear (I'm assuming here with weapons). I'm not trying to sound like a fanboy here, but I'm guessing neither of you have actually played in the beta at all ( has admitted as much), because if you had, you'd know that GW2 is nothing like GW1 in any way other than the lore. GW2 is a fully-realized MMO world, the same as you would come to expect from games like WoW, SWTOR, Rift, or TERA. Claiming it not to be a "real" MMO because it is missing such sideline features as player housing and politics comes off as desperately nitpickey to find anything wrong with the game to complain about. In fact, with the exception perhaps of a player-driven economy, none of those features you meantioned,

Yeah, unfortunately I had some pretty heinous technical problems. I won't even be on this week's episode, as it took me nearly 2 hours to get it all sorted out, but I can assure you there will be an episode this week. I created a thread about it here so as not to disrupt episode 17's discussions.

Hey guys, I just wanted to hop on now that my computer seems to have stabilized to apologize to all you duders who showed up for tonight's live show that never happened. Minutes before we were to go live, my entire system locked up, and even through multiple reboots, I was unable to get things running smoothly nearly an hour after our scheduled start time. There will still be an episode 17, in fact, they're recording it as I type this. I'll have to get proper confirmation from on this, but I believe that because of this, we will be doing another mid-week live gig leading up to release this coming week. Check back here for exact details on when, but it should be on my twitch channel, as per usual. My computer seems stable now, so we shouldn't have a repeat of tonight's events again. My best guess is that it was a combination of a lock up, coupled with an update I had done prior that required a restart which I had put off for later.

Moral of the story: If your computer says it needs to restart for an update, it's probably best to go ahead and let it restart. Especially if you are responsible for putting on a live show. Sorry again, dudes, and I hope to make sure this never happens again.
