IWnet? That's nothing. Say goodbye to the internet as you know it

Like many of you, I was initially upset when I heard about Activision's plans for both their new Battlenet (with no LAN play for Starcraft) and now their new IWnet with no dedicated server support.  However I realised after some thought that there is a connection between this and many of the other things I have been researching over the past year, specifically regarding what is known as the New World Order, and their plan for global governance and fascist control of nations around the globe.

Before I say anything about that, I should elaborate a bit on how the Internet fits in to all this.  With the rise of the Internet some things have evolved that have suited giant corporations, and their have been other things that have emerged that they no longer wish to tolerate.  One of those things is smaller and alternative media sites, that report on news and events in a different way to corporate media such as those that are behind the TV news and Newspapers in the US.

It's no secret that corporations have a vision of a 'new internet' - one where you do not have any general access, but rather you pay a 'subscription' to different internet sites just like they are cable television channels.  On this list of sites you can subscribe to, you will probably find sites like CNN, Facebook and Activision's new gaming services like Battlenet and IWnet.  See the connection now?  Technologies like dedicated servers probably won't even function under this new system, and no this doesn't bode well for smaller sites like our own beloved Giantbomb.

You may say well how on Earth would people ever accept this?   Well the answer is they won't, unless they stage a massive attack on the Internet first.  So it is very likely that there will be a massive internet outage, in an 'attack' that may be blamed on China, Russia, Terrorists, who knows.  But this will mess up everyone's internet, wreak havoc on financial markets, and things will never be the same again.  Because when it comes back, it will come back with all these new caveats and restrictions.  If you think that some of the conspiracy theories about 9/11 seem totally crazy, then likely this will as well.  But be warned this may happen very soon, anytime from now until end of the year.

How can I be sure about the timing of this?  Well if you have been following the news you would know that the Swine Flu (now that is a manufactured crisis if ever I have seen one) has been declared a 'National Emergency', and people in the US are gradually getting used to an increased military and police presence that is getting ready to 'help people' with this crisis.  But more importantly It is very likely that war with Iran will break out before the end of the year, and if you know the politiics of that situation, it is likely to escalate.  No the powers that be do not want you to have access to alternative news media when this happens, they want you exposed purely to the propaganda they have ready to roll out.  They also want lots more credulous young kids to join the military.

So try to get informed quickly people, and visit sites like infowars.com while you can, because you might not be able to do this for much longer.  I expect a few people are going to insult me for making bold claims like this, but I don't really care because I just want to get the message out there.

Dragonseer Lands on GiantBomb

Hello All. I thought I would use this first blog post in order to introduce myself, talk about my video game interests, and share some of my thoughts about GiantBomb. For starters, at 30 years old, I'm pretty new to web based networking and online communities and such. When I was in high school in Australia, none of us had mobile phones (which were big, ugly, and chunky back then) and I can't remember anyone using or talking about the Internet either. Maybe then there were some hardcore nerds playing Doom online over 56k dial up modems or something, but in no way did anyone I know regard the Internet as some kind of relevant social network.

But it wasn't long after I got to college that I was logging on and checking out video games sites, and found myself buying games like Final Fantasy Tactics for PS1 over ebay. The first site that I found that had great reviews and information was a little site called videogames.com (or perhaps here on GiantBomb.com, I should say the site that shall not be named). This was back before they were hosting video reviews, but I do remember Jeff and also Greg Kasavin were doing some great work.

So I was just starting to get into the community at the site that shall not be named when I noticed that there was something going on at the site that I didn't like. I was one of the forum posters that was criticizing Aaron Thomas over his shoddy review of Ratchet and Clank for the PS3, which I felt was not only a poor review but also a calculated dig at Sony, and that perhaps this was a deliberate move on the part of the editorial staff. Anyway it seemed to me as though this site was no longer a reliable source of quality and unbiased video game reviews, and it wasn't long after this that certain staff members started leaving the site in droves.

The reason for this exodus became GiantBomb.com, and I'm happy to make this new site my first stop for participating with the video game fan community. I'll be posting some blog entries and user video game reviews as I work towards building my own two sites due to launch on December 22nd, 2008. I'll post some more information about these sites later, but you can expect them to be a community resource that explores topics such as Kabbalah and Paganism, and will further aim to educate in respect to our environment and health. In addition these sites will have a emphasis on new media and technology, and thus cover video games, movies, books, music, photography, computing solutions, and emulation under Linux.

Anyway, back to video games. One of the first boxes I filled out when creating my profile here was one that checked me as a Sony fan. I currently own Japanese models of both PS3 and a PSP and I'm happy that these platforms are going to be all that I need in this current generation of video games. I like platforms that have other uses that go beyond video games, and this is why I prefer the hardware that Sony offers. I have moved all of my music and video files to the PS3, and I also run Linux on the same machine (that's how I'm posting this blog). My PSP is also the only MP3 player that I could ever want, as it runs the Atrac3plus 356 k codec that I find is superior for audio performance, and I also use it for local and international calls with Skype.

In the past I have owned gaming systems such as: Timex Sinclair, Intellivision, Atari 800xl, Atari ST, Atari Lynx, Commodore Amiga 500, PS1, N64, PS2, Dreamcast, Gamecube and now own a PS3 and PSP. I have also been a longtime PC gamer – starting back when games like Zork were all the rage.

I am a fighting game fan first and foremost, and this explains why I feel the PS3 is the best gaming platform around. Out of the box I had Tekken DR online, Virtua Fighter 5, and a new Hori Arcade Stick. I have since picked up classics like Capcom vs Snk 2 and the Street Fighter Alpha anthology. Because my PS3 is backwards compatible with NTSC-J titles, I can also pick up imports like Hokuto no Ken: Shinpan no Sōsōsei Kengō Retsuden (that's Fist of the North Star, by the guilty gear team), Samurai Showdown collection, KOF 98 Ultimate Match, etc. The only franchise I don't get on the PS3 is the newer Dead or Alive games, but I don't think they have improved much over DOA 2 Hardcore for the PS2.

My first user reviews here will be for Tekken Dr and Virtua fighter 5, which I will update and bring over from my profile over at the site that shall not be named, but in the future I will be posting reviews, starting with Soul Calibur 4, here on GiantBomb alone until my own sites are up and running. So thanks for reading this, and please look forward to more content I will be bringing here in the future. This is Dragonseer, wishing the community well here at GiantBomb.
