Perhaps the biggest question anyone can ask themselves is why do they game? And not the obvious answer of because I like games, but why did you even pick up a controller in the first place? Ever since I was a kid I remember loving video games. My parents never played them but they owned an old Nintendo Entertainment System, so when I was about 4 or 5 I began obsessively playing Super Mario Bros 3 every day after school. It began with curiosity but the real reason stems from in my opinion the fact that I was pretty lonely. I didn't have many friends since I was a new kid and my parents both worked all the time so I was just an only child with a NES and a Gameboy at home. Pretty soon after that I found myself owning an original Playstation which introduced me to games such as Crash Bandicoot and Spyro. After that, I guess the rest is history. My parents are around now and I've got friends and I'm not lonely anymore but video games are still a part of my life. So why do you play games?
You know, Blur and Split/Second are both pretty darn awesome racing games. They both take different views on the racing genre. One game has ridiculous explosions and the other is daddy's version of mario kart. Personally I've grown more towards liking Split/Second simply for the reason that these are damn good explosions. But what do you think? Which of these two do you like more? 6 Comments
Alright so I finally caved in....I bought Altitude. For $7.50 it seems like a good deal. So far I've sunk in 4 hours and it really does lead to the conclusion that this game is really simply just a lot of fun. Sure, it's not nearly as great as Dragon Age or TF2 but this game is just a great time waster. Am I alone in this thought? (Besides Dave Snider). Is there anybody else that's been playing this thing at all? Anybody that's played the demo? What's your thoughts on Altitude?
Alright duders, it's been a while. And I mean A WHILE. It's been over a year since I've posted anything on this site. Sure I was there the minute the site first went live, I met the Giant Bomb cast at their first reunion tour at PAX, and I used to be pretty involved early on in the community. That changed a lot, and that's what makes me a bad person. The community on Giant Bomb is something really special that I've really missed out on. I feel like the dad from "cat's in the cradle". Regardless, I've missed out on a lot. I've followed every news story and video but when it comes to the actual community here at Giant Bomb, sadly I have missed out big time. So here's to a year getting back involved with the GB community.
P.S. This isn't a New Year's Resolution, those things never work
You know, it seems like a lot of people are getting their panties in a bunch over Life With Playstation. Honestly, I'm pretty sure they weren't dying for this app/game/whatever the hell it is. I think it mostly has do with the fact that people just want something. They hear about this thing and they don't care that they don't care about it. Everybody just kinda wants to rip apart Sony. I mean don't get me wrong, I want this thing as much as the next guy, but really? Seems like over at the playstion blog, people are constantly saying its another failed Sony promise. Home anyone? This is the real problem. Everybody seems to be just tired of these promises Sony is making. But even then, it's really just Home they're referencing. This is pointless to feud over in my opinion. But what are your thoughts? Do you care? Are you mad at Sony? Tell me about your "Life With Playstation" so far?
I have officially lost my mind. For the past two hours, I have been doing image moderation without any breaks. I really need to fall asleep. But hey at least I found something to do if you can't fall asleep at night. You wouldn't believe the odd images people post on Giant Bomb. Well I'm back to moderating images. See ya guys.
Christ what have I gotten myself into? Alright so I bought me my PAX tickets. And since I can't drive in Seattle because I always get lost and end up at the zoo, me and my buddies are going to be taken the train. Yes you heard it, we're taking the f***ing Sounder (limited swearing on my blog). We're riding the sounder to Seattle and then walking to the convention center. While that may sound relatively easy, it does mean that we will get there 5 1/2 hours before the convention center even opens. Yeah its a work in progress. So I may be posting random stuff just for the sake of wasting time. Geez, maybe I can get a carpool with Giant Bomb lol.
