I agree completely, and this site is part of the problem as well. GB is always ignoring problems with games. Like the 5/5 review rating for Diablo 3, what a joke that is. Naming Skyrim their game of the year is an absolute sham. I traded it in less than a month after I bought because it wouldn't even play properly, nor would it for tons of other PS3 users. Now go look at those games scores on metacritic. Skyrim has 92 critic score, and 5.5 from users. Diablo 3 has an 89 critic score, 4.1 user score.
Yet the excuse is always "oh that's just from butthurt basement dwellers that have nothing better to do than rate down things." No, it's because people are unsatisfied with the game.
I think Leo DiCaprio's run of great movies is over. J. Edgar was terrible and this looks "meh" at best. From the trailer, it looks like it's trying too hard to imitate the Romeo + Juliet movie and will probably end up being soulless and bland as a result. Don't even get me started on Carey Mulligan. No doubt her "big" scene will be her crying for about 5 minutes straight.
The concept is incredibly ambitious. I hope it is successful for the coolness factor alone. The actual gameplay looks pretty average, but that's not going to stop me from playing the shit out of this game when it comes out.
Ultimately I think it will only be a mild success at best, simply because they may be too far ahead of their time on this. It has the potential to be groundbreaking though. In the future, we very well may see a bunch of different games from different genres entwined in the same universes.
i bought the pixeljunk games as well. I really like shooter, but am not a fan of the 3 bundled games, racer, monsters, and eden. luckily it was only $1.
