Dudacles's comprehensive list of gaming goals, v4.0

This is my fourth "gaming goals" blog. I was bored today, and felt like finally making a comprehensive list of stuff I wanted to get done in my games. It's a pretty damn long list, but I've got time. Provided I don't get hit by a bus tomorrow, I should be able to finish by the time I'm in my forties.

The "Franchise Goals"

  - I intend to do a full run-through of all the franchises I own every main game of. I've already made a list of these franchises, but here they are again. I might do a marathon if it's a franchise like Prince of Persia, because those games aren't too long and I know them by heart, or I might take it a bit more slowly, completing a franchise over the course of a week or two. The reason I want to do this is because with so many sequels coming out that require playing, lots of details that connect the two games are lost on me. Therefore, I'm going to complete these full franchises in order to get that sense of connectivity, and to see the links between the games.

--For the record, I am currently working on the Halo franchise. I believe I'm at The Library on Heroic.--

Assassin's Creed
FEAR
Viewtiful Joe
Halo
Splinter Cell
Prince of Persia
Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter
Rainbow Six Vegas
Half-Life (Original through Episode 2)
Condemned
Saint's Row

Ninja Gaiden
God of War
Devil May Cry
Lego Star Wars

Good luck with all those. I have way too many goals right now. That's why (if I ever stop playing MW2 multiplayer) I will work on Borderlands and finally beat that.

 - Beat Guitar Hero III on Hard and Expert

HA!  Good luck trying that, I still haven't beaten hard mode, 'Raining Blood' can go die in a fire =_=

Also, thank god I've already beaten COD4 on Vet, I don't think I'd have the patience for it nowadays.  If you manage it, you get a virtual pat on the back from me  XD

o___O that's a lot of shit to be getting along with. I have a similar list of stuff which I have under "things to do on a rainy day" (when i have no internet). Multiplayer games like MW2 require my ongoing commitment, it's tough finding time to go back and revisit stuff without strong incentive.

Damn what a list. Good luck with all that.

Man, that's great and all, and I love videogames (I've probably spent a good 80 hours of the last 3 weeks playing games, which is unusual for me), but if you spent even half the amount of time it's gonna take you to do all that crap on another hobby, you could learn how to play guitar or cook or skateboard or something else really rad. Just sayin'...

I like this idea, and I might blatantly steal it from you.  And Fallout 3's collectibles are "bobbleheads."

Heh, almost forgot - good luck!

Well, truth be told, I enjoyed making this list, but the probability of me ever attempting more than 3 out of all these is slim. I enjoy setting challenges, but I tend not to enjoy completing them. :p

You could reduce your list drastically if you just settled on getting S-ranks for certain games instead.  Those are really the only goals I set for myself: try to achieve all achievements in a game.  If some achievements for a given game look too frustrating or impossible to get, then I plan ahead not to get an S-rank for it to save time & frustration.

A fun list to read. Just make sure you leave time to actually savour what you're playing :).

I think my own list is to first complete Mass Effect 2 & then go back & get S-ranks for ME 1, Dragon Age, & ME 2.
