Most of EQ quests. Especially ones that required you to kill mobs that had spawn cycle of hours or days and it was random - maybe even add insult to injury by making it a raid mob, so whoever got their guild to the location and buffed fastest, got the mob.

@Mmmslash: Oh man a Malkavian is exactly who I picked. What is exactly so horrible about them? The description made it sound like their insanity is kind of a double edged sword of sorts.

It changes the dialogue completely and well, makes the plot a bit hard to follow. Malkavians are great fun to play, but they rarely make any sense not to mention they have long conversations with televisions.

Though, I guess it might be possible to keep up with the events even without coherent dialogue - I didn't try that, so I can't tell. If you decide to stick with your choice, do report back as to how it's going!

Good purchase. And I also recommend doing 2nd playthrough as Malkavian - it's hilarious.

I think humans should always strive to be the best they can. So if we, as a human race, evolve to a point where we can improve our bodies beyond their normal limits - we should absolutely do so. Without getting into metaphysical arguments about what makes us human - it would be stupid not to improve ourselves in every way we can. Even religious people can't argue that point because even if there is a Creator who has created us, he has also given us the all necessary faculties to improve ourselves - all according to His plan, right?

Now what can be argued, is whether a bionic arm is an improvement upon a normal hand - that depends on it's abilities. If it's indistinguishable from a normal hand except more durable and stronger - I would go and switch mine right now. If it had downsides, I might wait until mine got busted.

Well, I can correct few of your assumptions.

First, if you were to buy a decent computer now, it would not be outdated in a year. I've usually upgraded every 3-4 years, depending on the need. My current PC is over 4 years old, but I have upgraded the graphics card. And if you're not playing the "top of the line" games, it can last much longer - I don't plan on upgrading this machine anytime soon since most of the games I play are indie titles or games where the graphics are not that important.

As for the cheating aspect - it's not really that easy these days. I use cheats every now and then - especially on RPGs I might do a replay with cheats if I just want the story and don't need any more gameplay. Back in the day cheating was easy - just enable the console or type IDDQD and IDKFA and you're all set. But now, more often than not, there are no cheats for the game - if you're lucky, you might find a savegame/character editor from somewhere which probably won't work on the most recent version of the game anyway. So yeah - cheating is not likely to be a problem on most modern games.

Shame, that. I've bought plenty of games on Steam sales that I'm not that interested in, but I could do a speedrun with cheats just to see what it's all about - if it were that easy.

None of us here are all that old. The EverQuest guild I spent most of my time in was a family guild and we had a lot of couples and people who played with their kids. Average age was around 30 and one of my favourite healers that I liked to group with was 50ish woman who talked about her college ages kids often.

And really, that wasn't even all that unusual - met a lot of older folks who got introduced to EQ by their kids and started playing. Have yet to see anything like that in any other games since.

Jetpack and Battle City. Also, Shadow Hearts: Covenant is something that I've rarely heard people mention.

I loved Jetpack. There was a long period where playing that was the first thing I'd do after getting home from school.

I also loved Rocket Jockey, as deeply flawed as it was.

Big Red Racing was also kind of bad, but also really fun. It's the first racing game that I can remember where you could leave the track and explore an environment that wasn't just a flat plane. There was no reason to, unless you wanted the weird game physics to screw up and to find almost impossible mountains to climb.

Jetpack is freeware now. I downloaded it and some of the extra levels not too long ago and had a blast revisiting it. In case you're interested, it can be found here.

I'd send them some Salmiakkikossu which is salmiakki (salty liquorice?) flavoured vodka and maybe some cloudberry liqueur. And if I knew the package would get opened quickly, I'd throw in some Mämmi and cream.

Though I doubt they'd like any of those. :)
