That being said i think some people do need to chill out and cut back in the "omg Kristin and Gamespot are fucking idiots for doing this" type of comments. Plenty of people express opinions we do not agree with, advocate or generally like but that doesn't mean we have the right to come out and insult them because of it. I think too many people like to hate on Gamespot because its Gamespot and they just follow the crowd.
But on a totally unrelated note i still think they need to persuade Jody Robinson to have more camera time on the live shows, that girl is pretty on the eyes and amazing at her job.
Viva la Jody!"
well said. while i dont respect gamespot anymore editorially because i don't like most of the new staff, there are still some good guys like mechberg there and all the gamespot hate is total nonsense. i know a lot of the anti-gamespot stuff comes from the jeff saga but that was more CNET who were responsible for that and not the GS staff that are still there. and yeah jody ftw. "
Yar there is plenty of good stuff / people at GS that are worth reading / watching.
Yes, they'll make more money by splitting SC2 up. But they'll also be able to get the game out faster, and that is a fact. It is a win/win for everyone except the poor.
Blizzard has never had a problem delaying a game until they're done, suddenly they have to break up a game to get it out. How nice of them... to find a way to make more money. "
I suppose that's the cynical way of looking at it. Answer me this, you can choose one of two options:
A) Starcraft 2 comes out tomorrow for $100. B) Starcraft 2 comes out a year from now for $50.
Which would you pick? A or B? I think you'll find that most would pay more to have the game come out sooner, which is what we're getting."
I'll happily save $50 later for the whole game.
I have no doubt this is a sound business decision for them. They could sell a box with a rock in it and they'd make tons of money.
The concern in this thread being is that Blizzard was one of those companies you could count on putting out a quality product every time, and they didn't rummage around in your wallet after you bought the product looking for a way to get the rest of your money with the product you already bought. SC2, and these PR spinish excuses for breaking up the game seems to be pointing in the direction of the latter and that is disappointing.

The excuses are what really worry me. They didn't want to delay the game... since when has Blizzard ever worried about delaying a game? It is a win win for the player because it is going to have a lot more content (except it is just more campaign missions).... and we have to buy each game to play each faction. Oh and they're just going to happen to make a pile more money this way. Ominous.
