Alpha Centauri too the turn based strategy genera a step further with modular units and a surprisingly dark and defined story. To some extent Alpha Centauri has yet to be trumped by any turn based strategy game.

Bionic Commando took a new approach to platforming that is still a blast to play today. The key to moving thru this game quickly is to develop a rhythm of extending your arm, retracting and releasing the grapple.
