Speed runs go against the whole spirit gaming for me which is about having fun, not completing some numbers task... IMO

Speedrunners play games for fun, too. Besides which, if they weren't enjoying themselves, do you really think they'd be dedicating so much time to speedrunning in the first place?

I'll keep an eye on it, but I'm honestly more interested in seeing how Forza 6 turns out, whenever that comes along. Hoping they scale back the overwhelming microtransaction economy they started in 4 and peaked with in 5. I want lots of cars; I don't want to have to pay the equivalent of buying the game three times to get them all, and I don't want to have to spend hundreds of hours to unlock the highest tiers. Oh, and make the whole Driveatar thing optional. I like the idea as a way to race against my friends when they aren't around to play for realsies, but I don't want offline races populated by overly aggressive drivers swerving all over the road.

What the hell is Microsoft's press conference going to be at this point? The Kinect news is out already, this is out and all that Sunset Overdrive footage. They'd better have some kick ass stuff up their sleeves to be dropping all this early.

MM9 and 10 are fairly brutal, taking most of their cues from MM1 and then cranking the difficulty up another notch. MM2 and MM3 are great places to start, and are almost certainly the high point of the original series (not that the other games are bad). I'm one of those jackasses who prefers the X series to the originals, though, so if you can find a way to play MMX 1-3 for the SNES, I'd say those are the best Mega Man games ever made. If you have access to a PSP, the remake of X1 (Mega Man: Maverick Hunter X) is a good buy.

You people have nothing to complain about.

North Carolina. $40 a month. Time Warner Cable. It's combined with a landline for telephones (because what's a cellphone signal?) so it's not too bad.

I can watch 480p Youtube videos and Giantbomb videos, and I can reasonably download most Steam games in under two days. That is, if no one else is using the internet. If someone else in the house decides to start watching Youtube videos - well, there goes any chance of multiplayer gaming! There goes Netflix! And most other things that aren't more demanding than low quality videos.

You sure you're not living in 2003?

Sadly, I'm right there with him. I live in a small town in New Mexico with no options, so the one big ISP in the area is more than happy to take advantage of its monopoly, giving shitty service for far too much money.

First off, this shit is misleading as fuck. We're paying for (at least) twice the download speed it shows here (I don't remember what the exact price is, but it's over $50 a month), but more importantly, we've never gotten download speeds faster than 2mb/s, and that's typically only when everyone else in the house is either away or asleep. Every few months Suddenlink also decides to throttle our speeds for weeks on end between ~2PM and ~1AM every day, to the point where we're lucky if we get two-digit kb/s.

We also have a cap of 250GB per month. There are four people with computers in this house who all like to stream Netflix or Hulu (and myself and my girlfriend also download games and patches via Steam on an almost daily basis), and we've hit our limit multiple months in a row because of it, which just gives them an excuse to charge us extra.

Worst part of all this nonsense is that they are our only reasonable option in this area, so if we want Internet access, we don't have much choice but to put up with the bullshit.

And that trailer says fall 2014? That can't be release can it?

Yup, apparently it's coming out this year. The Polygon article hints at some pretty interesting concepts, like being able to choose how much you lean on technology vs. try to stay as "human" as possible.

Finally, the second part of the epic Too Human trilogy gets a release date! Weird about the name change, though.
