WOW. I always get stumped by people thinking it is their god given right to see a certain content in a certain quality appear, especially when it's FREE. OH MY GOD, someone should teach your parents how to raise a kid.

I think for a PC gamer, the thing that's most missing in our library are beat em up and fighting games. So things like God of War should make you pretty happy. Or a platformer like Little Big Planet is also hard to get and then JRPGs if that's your thing. Although shooters do alienate me mostly on consoles, there's occasionally the odd shooter which is exclusive for a console and you shouldn't miss up on. So go check out Infamous :).

If I win, please donate it to charity. I don't even own Fallout 3 for the box.

It's a GOOD thing that the decks are not customizable. That would just lead to everyone playing the "the best" 3 variations pretty quickly. For an online game which should have some longelivety LITTLE CUSTOMIZATION is always a good thing, it ends up making the game more diverse.

Take a look at spectromancer, it does a great job of keeping to be interesting and it only has 5 houses whereby every house has 8 cards. All the other cards are shared. I still sunk easily 40 hours in Spectromancers multiplayer. And it does some things quite better than magic (speed of gameplay ie).

I concur!

MODO has "Right click -> Concede", why can't this game have a similar feature?

The game is pretty decent. There are some minor bugs and annoyances: sometimes the freezes in a screen (but never crashed so far), there is no resign button, no chat interface, the way how certain card mechnics work is tedious (if you have 2 cards giving you health if you play a certain type of card, you have to wait twice for a short amount of time, similar if you can buff a creature by paying 1 mana X times, you actually have to click X times and then wait for the game to load X times - its pretty annoying). I'm also not sure if the decks are quite balanced, I played the fire deck the whole night and often i didn't have a lot of chances, but maybe i had just bad drawing luck.

The other thing is: I played Spectromancer over steam for quite a while now. It's also only ten bucks. Actually the inventor of Magic helped to design the game. I have to say that Spectromancer is more complex than magic - it feels more satisfying in general. You have complete overview over your own cards, there is no random draw mechanic during the game - the deck construction is random and then you hold all the cards in your hand. This makes the decisions much more complex. I magic it is often quite obvious which is the best choice. When I was younger and palying it in real life (about 10 years ago), I never minded much the complexity - i thought it is interesting enough. But now I'm a little bit disappointed (especially with all the fond memories).
A last thing I want to add is that I think after the first 7 or so expansions they just kept adding cards that threw the balance askew in one way or another. There are a lot of cards which mean your complete destruction or victory if you get them in the right moments. And there's nothing much you can do toplan against a lot of those cards or combos. So it makes you feel a little bit dissastisfied at times.
Anyway, I enjoy the game and if you're into that kind of stuff you should get it ;).

Why we're debating this? Well this is simple. You made a proposition about a totally of games and since subjective experiences are contradictory, people feel urged to share their opinion.

Bucketdeth: I never managed to make the transition from mouse to dual analog. When I bought my 'first' console 6 months ago I died like 15 times on the first enemy in Gears! lol....

I played UT99 like crazy for about 3 years+. We were one of the best CTF/TDM clans in Germany. I still think UT99 is one of the most fun shooters ever made (also in the beginning there were no timers and shit, voice chat was still coming and new). I very much like the movement possibilities (dodging) which adds a tactical dimension to map traversal and weapon usage. And also the way they build the weapons, there were A LOT of opportunities. I don't know why 'progamers' don't cry for something more complex in case of weaponry and movement these days. Or did I miss something?

Once every year I install UT99 for few weeks and play some Deck16][ ;). But the ping dependent weapons are simply too good. That's also why I quit. There was a rush a few years after the game was out, were everyone would start using Mini-gun ans Pulsegun (This was also an effect of the whole progamer thing becoming 'big') because they got better inet connections; the first users had highspeed inet (remember I talk about Germany). Although I had DSL, fastpath wasn't enabled and I had often pings of 120. This wasn't a problem in the early days, but once people got better machines and connections there were just too many good snipers / minigunners.

In general because there was some discussion: UT99 (I only played 2k3 which I didn't like, never 2k4 though) had a special feeling to it's movement, guns and level design. It was a little slower than quake (the rockets!!) but with nicer movement possibilites. But for a good TDM match with tactical movement through the map, you need smaller and complex maps (think Deck 16][). Now, if you have vehicles that instantly falls off, the maps become too big, there is no way to exert any level control.
The other thing is that if a game is available on consoles they are pertty much based on the same height level (think of the most TF2 maps). I think that adds a simplicity to the maps and takes a little of the fun out of it. That doesn't mean I dislike TF2. Actually It's my favourite shooter since UT99 and I played it a lot in the internet.

120DM on Mechwarrior Mercenaries about 10 years ago. I don't really know how that translates into dollars.
