In the UK we have a magazine called RetroGamer I enjoy quite a bit, however I don't buy every issue. They do a run down of what's in each issue as it comes out on YouTube so I know if it will interest me. To your question, I have very fond memories of reading magazines when I was a kid for the same reason you did simply not having the opportunity to find information elsewhere or play all that many games. My magazine of choice was gamesmaster, a multi format magazine that seemed to very much be the product of its writers as opposed to the output of the official magazines of each respective console.

@bollard: glad to help. Can't remember how I heard about it originally but there's a number of these events in the north that have been running for a few years. This is the first of its kind in London so I know I was glad to get to see what it was all about myself. I know some of the big conventions have added games to some of their events also now but I'm not much into comics or anime so have never attended one to find out.

Yeah I headed down for a couple of hours, it was enjoyable. Only about a 10 min walk from Euston station. This was the second iteration, the first event having taken place in November, the next July. They made a few improvements extending the event across three rooms, it was a bit overcrowded in November. www.londongamingmarket.com here's the website for the event, good few videos on youtube with footage of it by now most likely as well.

Hi guys and gals, was wondering if anyone attended this event this Sunday just gone and if so what they thought of it all? For those curious it's a retro gaming and board game event where traders come together to sell their wares to the gaming public, however It's really the only dedicated event of its kind that takes place in London.

@sparkysanxion: Think they're £8 on ps3, I would be very surprised if they weren't the same price on ps4 although I would also be surprised if we received access to exactly the same titles.

How can gta3 be the same price as gta San Andreas? I mean they're selling nostalgia I suppose so to them it's all just older titles they want to flog, at the same time however I feel this venture would prove far more successful with two price tiers, both less than 15 dollars. I played and finished gta3 for shits and giggles the other day, I can confirm as fun as it is it's a very old game that is simply not worth $15 in 2015.

Digital trading cards... I think they should keep an eye out for better services and products but hey, they do a wonderful job turning what would otherwise be a painful 3 or so minutes into something entertaining.

I always seem to play the original costume quest at some point. Found a strange looking game for the ps2 the other day at Cex, a rather infamous chain secondhand store in the UK. 'Castleween' it's called, seemed suitably odd and only cost £1.50.
